Smart man keeping the wife happy first.
LOL! No. More like letting the wife be the guinea pig and then stealing the wife's vape gear when he comes across anything he likes. Both of his iTaste VVv3's were mine to start with. We both started with generic, variable volt, ego's. I upgraded quickly because I loved all the flavors and I love to tinker. He insisted that the egos were enough for him when I offered to buy him a VVv3 so I only bought one. The VVv3 hit so much better that within days he claimed his egos weren't working and took the VVv3's. Said the egos were why he couldn't drop those last few cigarettes per day. So, I upgraded again to the MVP 2 and ordered an extra VVv3 for my stealth vape. He took the second VVv3 as well, claiming to want a cig when his was charging and the egos did no good as back up. I ordered another MVP 2 and offered it to him for one of the VVv3's back. He refused. Didn't like the box shape in his hand after using the MVP at night while I slept. That's how he tests my stuff to see if he likes it. While I sleep. I wake up and find my stuff drained. He won't admit to liking vaping or wanting anything. He just "needs" whatever he likes and winds up keeping it.
I recently upgraded to a Provari Mini. Got it in pink on purpose. Still woke to drained batteries, but he wasn't insisting that I leave it home for him during the day this time. The stories of faulty equipment DID start thought. The battery pins kept getting pushed down on the iTaste's so he claimed. Once I got home, they'd miraculously be working fine. Then, one of them won't hold a charge for long and the other wasn't giving a good hit. Haven't measured how long the one he claimed was dying is lasting yet, but the one he claimed was giving a bad vape is working fine. Just had to set the watts a little higher. It was on 5.5. I also upgraded from carto tanks to Kayfun style tanks and all his cartos suddenly were giving a burnt taste after half a day according to him. Thankfully I had two Kayfuns and was able to give him one of those right off the bat. The complaints kept coming, so I picked him up a full size, black Provari from the classies last week. It arrived on Saturday, and he stalked that mail like I do for the first time ever. Kept going outside to take a peek. Denied that was what he was doing, but when it arrived his father, who lives on the other side of our two family duplex, brought it to our door. Said he noticed his son kept looking in the mail box. When it arrived, I prepared myself to go through a lengthy tutorial on the menu, but he started flipping through it like a pro right off the bat. He never really bothered to learn the iTaste VVv3's menu and just had me set it and forget it. He had been practicing with mine quite a bit before his arrived I think.
So no, it isn't an effort to keep me happy. It's more his own desire to not admit to enjoying something he would normally deem as "geeky". He was the sports star/baseball captain in school. I was always the techie geek. He watches what comes in the mail for me, plays with it at night while I'm sleeping, and if he likes it he just somehow winds up keeping it.
