I wanted to run this by you guys since people here seem to be really helpful and know their ..... I got a cheapie v2 set up charger a couple pre-filled carts and a single battery. I actually don't mind it and i've been a few days off the smokes, and its going well. But i knew that once i got my new gadget that i'd have to find out a little bit about the next level up. A few nights of furious googling and youtubing, i find myself interested in a simple ego/cartomizer set up.

I got the "V2" charger which is KR808 and from what i understand the Ego-C Twist is a 505, would it be better(read:cheaper) to get the ego charger or just get the little 3 buck adapter for it. I guess it would have a longer charge because its a bigger battery but i think thats okay. tell me what you think.

As for my idea for a set up (once my v2 stash is done with):

Ego-C twist - eGo C Twist Variable Voltage Black not joye but seems to be reliable in the reviews.
-$19.99

Go-go Carto(5pk) - Go-Go Cartomizer - Black - Pack of 5 I assume i can always clean these out and refill/reuse. I believe they are compatible with 505/ego if not maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
-$8.88

Apple liquid (18mg/35ml) E-Liquid - Apple Just to get me started, ill prolly like the apple so this seems good enough just to try out since the sampler one wasn't in stock.
-$14.99

+ Freight cost plus an ego charger or one of those adapters and i think i should be ready to go for about the same price as i spent on the v2 starter guy. I can buy more liquids as i need them and start trying different flavors and what not.

So you can tell me what you think, am i missing something? Could i save money by going to a different vendor? Any advice now that you can see what i'm thinking

Thank you so much for any help and advice you can give me to start vaping..again XD

From what I hear, you should shy away from the eGo knock-offs. I ordered a Twist for around $30 and a charger for $15. I can run about two days with heavy vaping between charges on the Twist. That was cheaper than my initial V2 setup. You can pick and choose from a wide variety of cartos, clearos and tanks for the eGo as well. And having the VV ability of the Twist is a bonus.

I would also be leary of using the adapter. I would just go for the eGo charger. Just my two pence.

Hi Trela...

I'm pretty new at this, but I'll tell you what I have so far that has worked out really well for me.

Since my starting kit was KR808 based (from a local tobacco shop), I decided to go that route.

I purchased another KR808 kit from V4L that looks like an eGo bat. 650 mah bat with a megacarto (5ml capacity).
I then got 2 808 USB Pass Through bats (you can charge them and use while they are charging from you computer or USB wall charger). They are from O2Vapor and are still on sale for $9 (650 mah) or $11 (900 mah). You could almost get two bats for what you'll pay for the one eGo bat. And you could also still use your V2 bat.

O2Vapor also has blank 808 cartos and clearomizers (1.6ml cap). I really like the clearos.

Since there is a local vape shop nearby that has all 510 equipment, I bought a few 808 bat to 510 adapters and can also use anything that they have. I even have a couple eGo C attys and bodies for dripping.

All in all, I really like being able to use anything 808 or 510. It's a lot easier to shop! :)

Hope maybe this helps.

Vape on!

If you want to go with the non-Joyetech eGo-C Twist route (why not? all eGo are made in China, there's a reason why most venders only offer one month warranty...just my :2c:), you might want to consider purchasing it over at vaporbeast.com (battery + usb charger ~$23 shipped). I vape heavily and charge it roughly every 2 days and have no issues so far.

I'm not a fan of cartos and would suggest you purchase a mini Vivi Nova and learn how to change the wick to save you $$$:

GotVapes Vision Mini ViVi Nova™ 2.5ml 2.4ohm [gv-MiniViViNova510-2.4ohm] - $9.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

eGo Thread Sleeve Type D Small Tank - Fits All Std eGos CHROME [gv-egoTYPED-SmallTankeGoThreadSl] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more <----optional

For eliquid, you can get a free 10ml sample from vapedudes by liking their FB page and use code "fbfree" when checkout. If you like apple flavor I highly recommend trying out their appletini :vapor::

@xander what you said instantly made me very wary

@vapoor unfortunately i tossed most of the v2 packaging like a tool once i saw that it was working as advertised so the 30 day is off, i can always use it as a bribe tool to get friends and family into it and off analogs.

@longhorn I'm going to look into getting an 808 i just assumed i'd be screwed and should just buy a whole new kit but i can check it out with your suggestions, though i am still leaning toward the ego reboot

@cedric I assumed it would be easier, but with that video link makes me think i could get the vivi and it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Thanks a ton for all the help it really helped me set up my kit, ill update in a bit with what i come up with

It's all good. There's a new mini VV that will soon be released and I believe the Twists are going to take a tumble price wise if you can wait it out.

Yep! And those bats from O2Vapor are the same size as eGo bats and last me about 1 1/2 days without recharging (900 mah model). I really enjoy the fact that I can sit at my computer and vape at a full 4v without effecting battery charging.

I also use a cig lighter USB port in the car for vaping with that 5ft cable.
