I'm trying to build my first dual coils on my Igo-W but not sure if I'm getting a short.

To explain I'm building the coil on top of my eVic to check the ohms and to make sure there are no shorts. I've made sure that the coils aren't touching the centre posts and I'm building two 1.2 ohm coils so the reading on my eVic is .6 ohms. Everything looks great I do a test fire on the eVic and it gives me an "atomizer short' message.

So my question is this a false reading or not.? The reason I ask this is I was told the EVic wouldn't fire anything under 1.2 ohms so perhaps it's not a short but in actuality it gives a short message instead of saying it won't fire because ohms are too low.

Yeah, it's telling you that you have a short ohm problem. On the Provari I will only get a lo code when under .8 ohms, and finicky with builds under 1.1 ohms, won't deliver max out put on low ohm builds. So I usually use my mech mod. I use one of those atty ohm meters now, they are way more accurate and they provide a stable platform to mount and wick builds on. It's like having an atty stand and ohm meter in one device. If you want to do duals on a regulated device you are going to have to us more resistant wire or up your wraps or the diameter of your wraps. Go for 2.1 ohm coils so that you have some wiggle room.
