I've been vaping for a few months now on an istick 50w & atlantis but I just currently purchased a sx mini m class. I know I can go the route and buy temperature controlled coils but at 6$ a pop that could get expensive! Anyways I was thinking about buying a spool of 28g ni200 & a lemo 2 or youde goblin. Any tips on building a good nickel coil? Is 28g a good gauge to try and build twisted coils with? Or any suggestions on a tank that makes building coils easier? This will be my first time building a coil. I just couldn't resist on the sx mini after reading all the reviews on it. And it is as good as people say. But now I want to start building my own coils since temperature sensing coils are so expensive. Anyways look forward to any info you guys can give a newbie!!

starting you coil journey with nickle is going to be a bit tough -- its super soft and deforms easily compared to kanthal -- also you have to build pretty big coils... so there is more to mess up ;) you might want to get a couple gauges -- maybe 28 and 30? it could be helpful to have something handy that will allow you to build smaller coils to fit inside the tanks... 28 is what I use in my RDA's and I wouldn't want to try to fit that coil in a tank ;)

Thanks for the input.. I was also thinking to order a spool of kanthal and twist it with the nickel. I've read that the TC still works and it's easier to work with. Also figured since I haven't build before I really wont know how much more difficult nickel really is lol.. This next question will completely show my newness to building lol.. Which wire is thicker, 28g or 30g? Thanks.

And I've never heard of combine Kanthal and Nickle ... It would throw off the resistance change of the wire due to heat which is how temp is sensed and controlled... where did you see people doing that?
Yesssir, the ohm reader will be picked up tomorrow along with the rest of the goodies lol.. And I can't find it right now but I was reading it earlier today when I was googling ni200 builds. If I come across it again I will reply you the link.

interesting! Well I learned something new :D I would want to try the dry-burn test on this before I trusted it but doesn't look as complicated as I imagined. Since its creating resistors in a parallel config and one has a value that changes more than the other I wouldn't expect the ramp up and down in temp to be "linear" but maybe I'm wrong -- it is a rather small amount of total resistance change...

If u want open lungs then go for lemo's, atlantis v1 or v2, Kanger sub tanks similar like the artic tanks. I am a flavour chaser so prefer Kayfun v4 when working, use atlantis when I am lazy. Weekends is all about RDA with the marquis. Personally the drip tip from cherry vape, the cloud chaser one is very nice. I have the original sx350. Looking keenly at the temp control system mods but feel this generation is simply too new. It might work very well but feel it's missing a step and the ease of use could be better in NI mode. Sure they will get it right in the next revision. I would be careful of the new tanks. Some of them are going for custom drip tips which I think is plain wrong.
