Builds on The Big Dripper

I've been playing around with The Big Dripper I finally got from Grand Vapour Station and I'm definitely loving this thing but I'm still trying to find the best coil set up for it. I've currently got a dual coil in it (6 wraps on each side around a 5/64) sitting at .55 ohms. I've been running it on my rDNA but I feel like the vapour production could be better. Anyone out there have their own big dripper and feel pretty good about the vapour production they're getting off it? Keep in mind I'd be running it between 30 and 40 watts. Any tips about wrapping style or coil height in the cup or whatever else anyone can think of would be welcome feedback.

That should work with 28 gauge.

My guess is you're not using 28 gauge; I bet you're using 26 gauge kanthal.

Sounds like you haven't tried removing one of the coils.

Ah! 28 gauge kanthal A1.
You gots the right stuff;

So what's the problem exactly ; you said you love this thing but maybe the vapor production could be better.

I actually have one btw; but haven't used it; have to stick it on a mod first in order to pull the cap; kinda inconvenient;
3 posts; 4 possible air slots inside; 2 air slots outside; airflow and positioning of the coils close to where the air is entering is key to vapor production.

I couldn't think of any major red flag so I just rebuilt, taking extra care to keep the coils near the airflow, and making sure there was as much of an arc as possible under the wick as it goes through the coil. I think the extra room under there and the better positioning has pretty much solved it for me. If you do set yours up, let me know what you put in it and how you feel about it. I think I'm just being picky. Thanks

Your not going to get that good of a vape at .55 on a dna. Take it up 10 wraps and really 12 would be better. Your getting 0.091 ohm per wrap so 12 wrap dual coil would be about 1 ohm. You will have a good vape at that ohm load, and really the dna or any VW device in the 20 to 50 watt range will shine between 1.2 to 2.0.

Sounds backwards doesnt it
:vapor: try it you wont be disappointed
