It's a decent enough effort, well done. My first 30 coils ended up thrown on the floor. If you make microcoils then you will want to wrap them around a darning needle, drill bit etc and your goal is a consistent and even wrap. It's easier than it sounds.

I use very fat silica wick, because it lasts a lot longer than cotton and being so fat it does not move much when i wrap on it.I use 32g kanthal and 4 wraps will hit 2Ω on the ones i make for my wife.

I don't think it is possible without wilfully trying to make a bad coil for an RM2 - they are the most forgiving RBAs i have ever found.

:thumb: Now you're ready to explore micro coils. :D

I didn't have time right now to watch your video but I can see right off that your scrunching tool is waay better than mine. I just use my hemostats and the short tips don't scrunch it squarely. Tight at the back but bellied out a bit on the post side. I think I need a new tool.:)

The video is vapediver's and it was a real inspiration to me. I personally am using hemostats to pinch, but don't have the bowing problem. Maybe the jaws are longer.
Yeah, mine are pretty small. Axis point is less than an inch away. It's gotten me thinking that the right tweezers might work better because their pressure would be directly lateral.

I just use a regular everyday tweezers with a slanted tip like for taking out slivers or plucking stray hairs. You can find them in the cosmetics aisle. Works great for scrunching.
