I have found that even when you are no longer getting vapor from your cartomizer, it is still actually damp, it just does not have enough liquid
to create the vapor, but it's still damp.
Never let it dry out completely or it's toast for sure! :(

A cartomizer will actually hold alot of liquid.
Just drip it around the sides to avoid that tube in the middle.
They will hold almost 2ml of juice.
Just add a few drops at a time. When that soaks in, add a few more drops.
When it's saturated, it will not soak in and will pool on top.
Just pour it out and put the little plastic piece back on and you are ready to vape.
If you still taste the burnt taste, check the wicking material inside your carto. If it's dark color, replace with a new one.
Once that wick material gets toasted, there is nothing you can do to fix it. You need a new one.

Maybe it has just been my selection, but I have not found pre-filled carts to be of good quality or value. None of them seem to last long or hold taste well. I have found refilling them with my own juice to be much more satisfying. I usually get around 8 drops or so back into these carts.
Just experiment and keep count of how many drops you are using. You will quickly get a good idea of how many works good for you. Fill them to get the filler good and moist, but try not to let the liquid be a big puddle on top. A good description I read around here was to make the filler look like a Slushy.
With all of this in mind, I also find it very helpful to occasionaly separate the atty from the battery and cart, then blow through the atty to help clear it out. Really wakes up the vapor and flavor.
Good luck, just give it some practice.
