Burnt Filler In Prefilled V2 808 Cartos

I hear sometimes "yuck, burnt cart filler". Well, the only burnt fillers I just found were in cartos.

I was cleaning out some used, pre-filled 808 cartos from V2, the auto batt kit I vaped in another lifetime (4 months ago), thought I'd take out the filler and give them a good soak. Surprise! Of the 3 cartos I opened and pulled out the filler so far, every one had scorch marks, brown and black. That may explain why one tasted so bad when I tried to refill.

These are typical 808 cartos with a plastic center tube surrounded by a white cloth like sheet and a second layer of cottony fillers. Each has only been used once. Yes, these might have been pre-filled, cheap (not so in price) and better ones may not be like this (?), and I might have puffed too long, but I'll stick with my carts for now.

But if I had to top off, doesn't it defeat the purpose of cartos holding more juice? I read some folks top off every 1/2 hour.

edit: I stopped on those cartos once vapor/flavor was gone, never got the "# of puffs" they advertised, but that's another story.

When I started over a year ago I went through 15 cartos in short order and swore off them. For months, all I used was attys, mostly dripping, but with carts for out and about. A few months ago I decided to try the ce2s after watching a couple of videos on how to deal with them. To me, they're not that big of a hassle, as I just pull the plugs and drip, or fill by dripping down the side of the ceramic, and putting the center plug back in against the ceramic.

I've been pretty happy with a five pack of the boge 2.5 ohm ce2 clones. So far, none have cracked or pulled loose at the bottom. Madvapes has them if you want to check them out.

Thanks JD1. Cartos without a filler would be nice. There are so many choices of cartos now. I bet quad coils will be along shortly. It's an arms race. I've got my eyes on some 1 ml clear carts next, but may get a few cartos just to experiment. Meanwhile, just happily vaping Rivas on carts...

Yah!! Looking for the fillerless for several reasons. The many that ive tried are not warm enough for me becuause I use 1.5 ohm. I did see some advertised, Im gonna try them and hope they are warm enough!!

I'm still a boring guy, standard attys, standard carts, standard juice (USA Mix) and Rivas (was on standard 510). I may try the e-power to save on batt cost down the road. But that's it. I am one of few who's ready to go when a kit with atty & carts come shows up.

Others like all the tech and new stuff, I just vape.
