What am i doing wrong? I have been making micro coils for a little bit now and I have been making them any where between 1.0 and 2.5. Seems that if I go over 3.5 v I burn my cotton. This seems to only be the case in my kayfuns and taifuns. On the drippers i have i can go way up with them. I usually have to keep my volts at about 3 if i want any flavor and no burns. On the taifun I have been having to build them on a larger bit and using less cotton to keep from getting dry hits or burnt taste. Any ideas?

You kayfun/Taifun are not wicking properly, or you may have hot spots on your coil builds, which will not manifest itself as bad on a dripper that you can keep the coil completely saturated with manually.

Too much cotton/wick?

Is your Kayfun a clone? Does it have proper channels? Or is it small and wonky like I've seen some clones?

Are you dry firing your coils before wicking to make sure they are glowing up evenly, with no hot spots or hot legs?

Watch some more youtube videos and check the way your building/doing things.

Perhaps the wicking isn't able to keep up with your draw on the Kayfun/Taifun. I had that problem with my kayfun no matter how I set it up. It would wick fine for a few draws but if I took 3 or 4 in a row the last one would always be a dry hit. It could also be a combination of your draw & the fact that the higher volt is vaporizing the eliquid faster than the lower volt.

could also be you're putting too much cotton in. I found it hard to gauge how much to put in since it expands so much once saturated. That's one of the reasons I use yarn now. I can put the same amount in each time & know it's not too thick.

I am using yarn for the same reason. I wanted to make sure i was using the same all the way around. I do kanger heads all the time too and i just never seem to have this problem. Just weird. I will watch some more videos. I do test burn them to make sure they are all even and heating from the inside out. I started on the Taifuns with the entire yarn thread and now i am down to 2 strands. Maybe i am just trying to chain vape too much.

Unfortunately that's the caveat of any auto-feeding tank system. They're all wonky at times in their own way.

If your chain vaping it, try covering the airhole and taking a couple dry hits to suck more juice into the chamber.

Wait 'till the hot weather hits us; we'll see a new thread every other day about troubleshooting leaking and gurgling Kayfuns. lol

The only truly bullet proof vape is the kind you manually control yourself; aka a dripper or bottom feeder.
