I have been using an ego CC.....btw...40+ years smoking and quit 9 months ago using ecigs. I really like the CC and this is all a learning experience for me. I have changed the atomizer head a number of times and never had a problem. Today, I changed the head and got a burnt/plastic taste my first vape. I continued to puff to try to work what ever was wrong with no success. I decided to change the atomizer head again to see if this was the problem as it was find before the change, just not getting the draw. The second one was the same, maybe not as harsh, but still unvapeable.

The only difference I can come up with is...I had placed an order for EGO C atomizer heads....the heads were not in a blister pack, just in a bag. Would they be a cheaper version of atomizer ? How do I go about fixing that awful taste....do I have to try to drain the ejuice too?
I appreciate any help I can get.

I got that same issue with several different Clearo's. ALWAys came down to de-gassification of some gasket, oring or another. Try different heads. They probably come with some cheap a** 0-rings on them. That, has solved my issues with plastic taste. Steel taste, THAT is another thing ;-)

Loosely packaged atty heads probably equal knock offs. I would say though that if you have contact and no leaks those dimensional aspects of your replacement heads are fine. I have found that the tight holes that the wicks run through restrict the juice and TAKING A LONG VAPE WILL DRY YOUR WICK OUT (giving a burnt taste). Also hitting the tank right after a vape will not allow enough time for the wick to re-pull the juice back up to the coils. However I would imagine that if the holes were too loose the liquid would form more droplets when not in use and gurgle or leak down the center post and onto your battery. The dimensions of some of those parts are critical !! I have tanks that will fire on one type of battery but not make contact with a different type. Knock offs are much more guilty of looser tolerances and lower quality control. Usually you get what you pay for, buy cheap, buy often :)

Yup I obtained a set from ebay. 9 of 10 tasted like plastic. It must be some sort of problem with the wicking material. Had to toss them. So bad you could not even taste the fluid over the plastic. What scares me is I wonder what was in the material? Toxic sludge?
