Hey all. Hope someone can give me some answers/advice. I have my wonderful Halo Triton, but I get a burnt taste after about 3/4 of the tank. I take a 4-6 sec. gentle pull into my mouth, inhale through my nose, then exhale through my nose. When I'm a little more than half way thorough a tank, it starts tasting a little burnt. By the time I'm nearly done with the tank, it is pretty bad tasting.

I have read where some people get 2 tanks in before they clean their equipment, I clean mine after every tank. I rinse in hot water and then soak in vodka for a few hours, let dry for 24 hours or more. I check the wicks when I clean the tanks and if it is black all the way through, I take them out and replace the wicks after its all dry. After every 2-3 tanks, I dry burn the coils to remove any build up. I do rinse after the dry burn and let it all dry again.

Not sure what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When the tank gets low, you have to tilt it to force the liquid closer to the coils. It was a common problem with the top coil clearos, and the Triton tank is basically a Kanger T2/CE5. I still enjoy the T2s, although I gave away my Triton system to others who needed it more.

Just a wicking issue. Seems you're doing everything else correctly, including the occasional dry burn.

Hi dmparke and welcome to ECF!

Isn't it funny how when we get something good, impatience seems to automatically come with it? :D

Yep, chain vaping can easily lead to burnt taste. I've learned that lesson over and over and over and ... hmm... maybe I haven't learned it after all!

Welcome to the club, and try to take a rest between vapes - Oxygen's a good thing, too :)

Happy Vaping!

Possibly, it's the juice? I find with my Tritons that the darker, more 'custardy' flavors seem burnt at about the 2/3's empty rate. The juice left will be much darker and taste nothing like they originally did (and nothing close to being good, either). It seems to be part of the trade-off, for me - I love the warmth of the vapor from the top coils, but I assume that it's also the reason the juice 'burns' before the tank's empty. To counter it, I keep the tanks topped off and I'll get 2 weeks off a coil - but I use 7 vapes (various ones, not all Tritons) simultaneously.

Thank you for the replies. Grimwald, I found vapingme.com through another thread, love it. The coils are much cheaper! (every penny helps) I have only had to replace 4 coils so far and I have had those for over a month. I fried a few in my first couple of weeks of vaping and I messed up a couple when I was learning how to rewick them. I try to keep all of my equipment super clean so I don't spend too much. I was rolling my own at $10/carton when I started vaping, so this is a little more expensive for me. However, I really love vaping! Even more important, my husband says my kisses taste much better and he can actually smell my shampoo now. Very nice trade off if you ask me.

Aspire2more, do you have any suggestions on juice? Does the pg/vg ratio make any difference? Brand difference? The thicker, darker juices burning a bit makes sense.

Any other suggestions are very welcome!

Gosh - juice is just so subjective. I can tell you what I'm using and liking in the Tritons - but YMMV! Right now, I'm using (all are 50/50 mixes):

Virgin Vapor - The Bee's Knees: tastes to me just like a honey-lemon throat lozenge
Mt. Baker - Butterscotch: tastes ... like butterscotch
Vapor Chef - Apple Bourbon Tobacco: I taste each component, very clearly.

I had found something I LOVED - a pure grapefruit - but it's a tank-cracker. I don't care for it at all in other tanks, only in the Triton. Have to watch those!
