Hi fellow vapers....I've been vaping for about a couple of weeks now using an automatic eGo 1100 battery with a CE 6 clearomizer. Last night I replaced the coil head on the CE 6 and I keep getting this burnt taste. I did not let it soak but I tilted and inverted the ecig. Did I do something wrong? Do I need to replace the head again?

Thanks for your help

In my experience sometimes you just get dud coils…It sucks I know

I always take a few dry hits on any new coil…Even if it is a top coil(I don't know how much this actually helps, but it gives me peace of mind :)
You might want to try replacing it and make sure next time you haven't got a different resistance from the other coil you had in there, double check whatever voltage you are using(unless you're just using a regular battery), take a few dry drags, tilt it a few times, take another drag or two, and then you should be fine!

^^ By dry drags it means to take pulls as if you are vaping without hitting the fire button. If you are getting actual dry/burning hits dont continue puffing with the fire button. Sometimes it gets the wicking going to pull on it without firing :)

It may be in this case, if you got a burning hit and tried some more that you burned the wicks a little. They can get a permanent burnt type taste if you do this and are forever gross :( It may have also just been a dud coil - either way a new head should fix you right up!!!

I'm using an automatic eGo battery..no fire button to press..should I remove the battery and take drags from the atomizer? I already changed the coil ..let it soak ...the taste is still there, but not as strong as the first bad coil. Now I only have one spare coil to go and I don't want to ruin it by doing something wrong :(

the taste is still there...guess I have to try the last coil I have..but I won't connect the atomizer to the battery this time ..I'll let it soak for 10 minutes, then take a few dry hits, pray to all the monotheistic, polytheistic and pagan Gods, and then connect the clearomizer and hope it works out.

Thanks...I really appreciate your help guys ..unfortunately we don't have much of a choice in Egypt..it's very difficult to find a vendor that imports other than CEs and eGos

I figured that may be an issue - it can certainly work - just get tons of heads every chance you can and you will find the ones that work best!!!

Maybe check into rebuilding them if you are comfortable with it. There is a lot of info and a video here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/430240-ce6-rebuildable.html

umm..should I throw away the juice that was in the tank with the previous coils?

Im not very certain if it would or would not retain the burning taste, I would toss it - but if you cant spare it - it is what it is. Not sure how low you are and how easy/fast you are able to get more.

my experiance as taught me that some times you have to let
the coill temper.
it might take 1/4 to 1/2 a tank on a new coil.
why?i dont know.
i think that the maufacterers may have goten a new supplier or
changed the composition of the metal in the coil.
due to the increase in demand there may be supply issues.
there seems to be an increase in these type of complaints latley.
regards
mike
