Hey there!

I'm using E-cigs since the past month, currently the joye ego-T brand.
no problems until yesterday, when I noticed a burnt taste coming from my atty.

First thing I did, was to replace to a new LR atomizer, but the problem persisted...
then I switched to a regular atomizer-and every thing was normal again.

so I tried to test some of my PG e-juice with thy "faulty" LR atomizer-just to discover it was working just fine...

so the only conclusion I could draw, was that the LR atomizers are not meant for vaping VG...

am i right? has anyone had the same problem with VG+LR?
is there a way I can still enjoy my VG with my LR atomizer?

the reason that im using VG,is because PG e-juice makes me cough like hell, and have a kind of asthmatic reaction to it (is this the symptoms of a PG allergy:blink:)?

regards to all you guys here,
you really have a great forum.

There are a couple of things happening here. First, using a LR atomizer is going to make your juice heat up more. Basically that means that you need a greater juice flow to your atty with the LR. Second of all, VG juice is thicker and thus drips more slowly. So when you put the two together you're not getting enough juice to your atty with that setup. So the answer here would be to use a standard atty and put the LR atties away for now.

Welcome to ECF!

I've had problems with high VG content juices in cartos also - the fluid is very viscous and it takes a while to get to the coils.

You can speed it up by sucking air through the top while covering the bottom with your finger. Also, using the condom method of filling will get fluid to the coil quickly as well. Bottom line - give VG juices more time to reach the coil.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps!

Happy Vaping!

You might be taking too big of a hit and it's a matter of finding a comfortable amount of vapor for you. If you are still smoking analogs you will find that if and when you give them up that will put an end to your coughing, as tobacco is harder on your lungs of course. Try taking shorter draws and see if that helps. You can also look to "tough it out" with the PG and see if it's just a matter of getting more used to it.

Once you get a better PV you can also adjust the power more to your liking, I started with the Ego-T as well but have long since thrown it into the garbage where it belongs.

I found this info on PG in Wiki. There is more info here at ECF.

"Additionally, some electronic cigarette users who inhale propylene glycol vapor may experience dryness of the throat or shortness of breath . As an alternative, some suppliers will put Vegetable Glycerin in the "e-liquid" for those who are allergic (or have bad reactions) to propylene glycol."

Good Vaping!

Are you vaping 100% pg and 100% vg? How much nic are you using? Have you tried blends of 50%pg/50%vg, 70%pg/30%vg, etc. ? You might want to try ordering sample size bottles in varying ratios to find what works best for you. If you find that you just can't use pg there are some vendors that make vg blends that you can order with extra flavor.
Virgin Vapor and EC Blends for instance.

Welcome to ECF......... You'll find lots of people here willing to help answer any questions:D

currently I'm vaping 2 types of e-juice.
joyetech e-juice that's 100% VG CAM flavor 16 mg.
dekang e-juice VG or normal (I think the normal is at least 70% PG) in several tastes, and 18-26 mg.

the normal juice, causes me to cough, regardless of its strength... it has a nice throat hit, but similarly a good coughing afterwards...

There are several things you can try with your LR attys -

1. Take one or two primer puffs (without pressing the button) before vaping to pull more juice through the wick to the coil.

2. Thin out your VG juice a bit so that it wicks faster by adding a drop or two of distilled water or PGA.

3. Wait a bit longer in between vapes so the wick has a bit more time to wick new juice to the coil.

4. Adjust the wick, this short video shows how.

I hope this helps.

*This advice is for atomizers (atties) not cartomizers (cartos)*

I only use 100% VG on LR atomizers, or regular ones at about 5 volts.

The VG liquid has to be thinned so that it is nearly the same viscosity as PG. As stated above, add some distilled water or any kind of spirits like vodka or rum. Rum is good :)

If you are dripping, you need to drip more. Get a driptip as it works better than trying to use an empty cartridge. 4 drips at a time.

If you are using an atomizer + cartridge, make sure the cartridge is very full, if using VG. You might try a cart mod, as the filler they use may not be the best type.

I'm curious. Are there any known ill affects from vaping alcohol...like rum? I'm not being a prude...just curious. God knows I abuse alcohol in so many ways.

You can add a couple of drops of water (I use sterile USP-grade water) to you thicker juices, weather they are PG or VG, and it will lighten the eJuice up a bit w/ no flavor lost, as I got some juice that was too thick for my atty's & I make my own occasionally - Both VG & PG are water soluble, so if they are too think, you can do this.

I also got some that was too watery, so I added some VG to thicken it up. I did loose some taste that way, but I make my own flavors, so I mixed in a tad of my own flavors. It was a hassle, just like mixing my own juice, just had to do a little math & add some straight high-nic liquid too. I quit ordering that flavor from that company, which used to be fine, but shipping back a couple of bottles would have costs too much to make it worth my while, so I finally decided instead of doing that each time, I emptied the dropper bottle, fixed it all at once, the put it in another dropper bottle of mine with instead of a dropped top, the top has a dropper built into it, & it worked great, but I loved that flavor, & used to order it so I didn't have to mix my own, but I did figure out how to make my own that tastes about the same, only better, so now I have a new recipe! :)

So, with those thicker juices, just add water (only a little bit) & you'll be fine.. order higher nice, so the math & you can prolly bring it to exactly how you want/need it to vape with your voltage, etc, and make your juice last a little longer!

I've ordered ejuice from many different places & some juice of the same type & yet a different flavor varied a lot!

I've even gotten eJuice that was the same flavor, same nic, same everything, but viscosity was way different! (not usually, most are exactly the same, but once in a while they do change the formulas (I noticed the expiration date was different, so was the taste & subsequent bottles tasted the same as the newer one I was sent, so the formula was changed.
I figured even though this is an old post, I'd answer for you & others that may run into the same issue.

I think some places are making juices for tanks, which seem to usually be run on higher voltage & can "burn" a thinner juice & certain flavors quickly, making them a bit harsher, so you need the juice thicker, at least that's been my experience.
