I've tried everything. No matter what I do, I get a nasty burnt taste after 5 or more hits. I clean my tank out regularly and sometimes I try and salvage a coil By cleaning it after a day of use. It might sound stupid but Cleaning the coils only makes it worse.

I now have to run at 3.3 volts and 6.0 watts on the MVP 20 watt. The lowest possible settings and I still have the same problem. I use the 1.8 ohm BVC coils. The air flow is all the way open. juice is always 50/50

I let a new coil sit for 5 minutes and give it a primer puff or two before vaping
I don't know what else to do. I had a friend try it just in case I had imagined it all. He gagged and compared to "Satan sharting in your mouth" so it's not just me. I'm at a loss here.

When I first started vaping I bought a Nautilus Aspire, they certainly are the bottom of the line as far as what has evolved since. I would suggest upgrading the tank to one better. Nothing worse than messing around with burnt coils continually. Many times I found three or more coils in a pack faulty, just not worth the aggravation.

I may be out of line here, but leaving it sit for 5 minutes and taking a primer puff is not going to do it.

I've tested this theory with a number of liquids of varying ratios. Aspire are plain wrong with their description of how to get going. I've let a coil sit for over 10 minutes and still not really enough juice has soaked in.

I also disagree they are bottom of the line. They are still very good. I've not had one bad hit or bad vape in 13 months, 10 days and 2 hours** of using them. Total coil count must be over 40 now (two tanks) and never a bad one. Not one.

Prime them well... drip directly into the top, onto the mesh. Drip onto the 4 holes too (3 or 4 drips per hole)
Sit them for a short while.
Start them low for 10 puffs, crank them up halfway for 10 and then vape on.

I bought mine at the UK Vapefest 2014. (that's how I know**) and my coils come from China.

I went thru a lot of Nautilus coils, but only because I used 5 of the tanks with different juices and vaped heavily for months with them. The only time I got a dry hit was when I wasn't paying attention and let the tank run dry.

When I swapped out a coil I would change the coil and fill the tank. Then with the tank I would cover the air holes with a finger and take a few good draws WITHOUT POWER to create suction and pull the juice into the wick. After each draw I would check to see the air bubbles from the wick holes. I repeated this process 3 or 4 times. Then I usually let the tank sit for 5 minutes. It worked for me.

It's possible you have gotten some bad coils. I never "cleaned" my coils until they were gunked up. Even when swapping juice I would clean the tank and just use a paper towel to wipe off the bottom part with the coil. Usually after 3 or 4 hits with the new filled tank the old juice flavor disappeared as the new juice was wicked into the coil. I would still take a few unpowered draws for prime to be on the safe side.

After a coil got "gunked up" I would take it and put it in a small glass jar with some vodka and let it soak for a few days to a wee, giving the jar a shake every now and then. Then I would take the coil out, blow it off and let it air dry for a day as the vodka evaporated. It didn't make the coil like new but I did get a lot more mileage out of them. The Nautilus coils can be rebuilt/coiled, check you tube if interested.

Look at the demon fart thread.

Sounds like it may not be wicking?
Can you see the ports for the juice?
Are they blocked?
You just couldn't wait to use "look at the demon fart thread" in a sentence could you

The coil should last a week or 2, no need to clean it every day. Have you tried dripping juice into the coil before vaping it?
I usually let the coil soak up for a bit before using it. They usually last me two or more days before getting that burnt taste. That's what led me to begin cleaning them so often. The problem is, I feel like the frequency at which I vape shouldn't be causing them to burn out so quick. I do it every day but not constantly.
