Burnt taste

Hi,
Let me just start by saying that I am a fan BackwoodsBrew, as a matter of fact, it was definitive juice that kept me off analogs for good and the only one I ever plan on ordering. With that, has anyone here experienced a burning taste when using BWB menthol, or any flavor for that matter in a CE2? I have, and I want to know if there is something I'm doing wrong or if I got a bad batch. It was ordered in late September/early October. I filled my CE2 (and 2.5 ohm carto) and the juice flavor is completely gone accompanied by a burnt taste. Tried a different juice and they worked fine. Anyone know what's up?

I don't know if its just me, but everything seems to taste bad to me out of a CE2. I have a bunch in my stash, but I don't use them anymore they just collect dust.

Same here I dont like CE2s for that reason,I highly recomend Boges they are awsome with BWs juices.

What voltage are you vaping at?

Regular 510 (3.2 I think) with a Boge LR; Ego battery (3.7ish) with a 2.4-2.6 Fluxo; Volt 3.7 cartomizer, KR808 CE2. They've all worked before. and when I dump the BWB and put other juices, they work fine. Maybe just a bad batch...

I don't know if my experience with cartos and bwb juice is at all typical, but I have to +1 for Boge cartos. I bought some LR Boges as well but I feel like they give me a much warmer vape that is more prone to burnt taste. I notice this more often with eJoker's than any other juice, but on standard Boge cartos I rarely get any taste of burning or staleness.

I can't make any speculation as to why certain juices give you that taste and others don't, I'm just blabbing about what worked for me.

With my SR cartos I just blow them out and refill if I get any funky taste or lack of vapor (and full clean if that doesnt work), but I've had LRs get gunked up and there was no saving them...Ordered 10 SR and 10 LR at the same time...3 LR are still kicking after a month or two and all 10 SR are still going strong.

My cartos are always wet though, I drip them to keep them as full as I can and I haven't gotten any burnt flavor from the wicking getting burnt up.

I've been wanting to try some different cartomizers but after my first few orders of Boge cartos I don't see a need whatsoever.
I don't know if this is typical (I may just be terrible with LR), but if in your shoes I would personally get some standard cartos and see how they work especially if you have VV anything. Edit: Reading comprehension fail...nevermind the VV comment.

Hmmm...I don't see why you would have any issues there. I used to have the problem of BWB juices burning when I was using 808's but have not had that problem since I switched to 510. I use both Boge and Smoktech. What is the PG/VG ratio of the other juices you have used? Maybe they wick faster. I found that when I switched from 100% PG and 80/20 juices I was used to to my now preferred 70/30 mix, which BWB juices are, that I had to change my vape pace a bit.

Guys, thanks for the replies! I use the Menthol Strong tobacco, i usually always try to stay around the 70/30 ratio. Tried boge LRs, Volt SR, 2.4 Fluxo's all with the same result. And for the record, tried vaping the menthol at 4.2-4.4 and Holy sh......nikeys was it delicious! A friend of mine who got a bottle at the same time said he had the same thing, worked in the Fluxo's awesomely in August, bad in September, the bad part is I ordered two bottles and that's all i usually have (BWB Menthol), but the same friends's latest juice is working fine again, so I put me a order in for 10ml again to see if it's ok again. It has to be, either it's BWB or bust! And bust unfortunatley means Marlboro Menthol Lights

Hey Mattdogg, why dont you send it back to me so I can take a look at it and Ill send you out a replacement. The funny thing with a burnt taste is 99.9% of the time it is a issue with the wicking material or something cause there really isnt anything in there that can turn into a burnt taste.......

That's ok Don, it was a while back, I tried mixing it with other juices since then that were ok in the CE2s so it wouldn't be right to send it back for a replacement. I'll see how this next order goes, and if it doesn't work in the ce2s, I guess its back to dripping. I really can't stand too many other juices besides bwb.

Update: It's all good now! Got my 18mg menthol Tobacco today, vaping great! I just wish I had that other bottle intact to show what I was talking about, oh well. You can delete this thread if you want. Business as usual.

I get a burnt taste with ALL of my cartos. Matter of fact, they really bother my lungs. I began using cartos only about 6 weeks ago. I don't know if carto usage was what caused my COPD exacerbation, but it's the only thing I can think of that was different in my life. I'm going back to straight dripping.

I have asthma and I can't use poly cartos. They on many occasions have exacerbated it. At first I thought vaping was what was causing it and almost went back to analogs since they never caused me problems like vaping was. I then tried using only ce2's and atty's. After trying ce2's I fell in love just with how flavorful the juice was so I never planned on using a carto again. After a few weeks I tried a carto in a tank thinking it would be the perfect setup and immediately started having issues again. Don't know what is in them doing this but I know I can't use them.

Oddly enough, I started feeling a bit better and tried another carto. Started having issues and back to dripping. I have a doctor's appointment today.
