Kanger Subtank...ya either love it or hate it. Mine was nothing but trouble til I modded the RBA deck and it started to work, still nothing all that special tho... My advice is try your RBA deck, the new ones in the subox kit are better than the ones we all had to drill out months ago... If you can play around with building you may get it working right... Plus it'll free us all to tell you really, when you can, try another tank, lol... Lemo 2, Billow, Fogger, just a few under$30 coming to mind...will save you money on coils, too ;)

PS yes you can clean a stock coil... Bunch of options, some soak em in PGA or vodka etc then rinse well and dry (days for cotton to dry) and hope the wick isn't burned... My fav, pull the cotton out, dry burn the coil (pulse fire in 1-2sec increments til evenly red) and rewick with cotton thru the holes... Some actually open up the OCCs and rebuild from the ground up, new coil new cotton etc, but in my 2¢ it's too much hassle to do all that in a stock coil head when the build deck is so much easier.... Up to you tho

So Mamabear15,
I take it you think the Kanger tank is - no-too-good and I could save myself some headaches and probably have
much better results by investing in another tank such as Lemo 2, Billow, Fogger, etc? I get that.

If so, which of these 3 reasonably priced tanks is the best in your opinion ?
Hell, I'll buy one. I'm about to give up and just go back to smoking analogs if something doesn't give.
Your opinion is appreciated.
Thanks,
John in Ohio

I'd probably point you to the Lemo 2 first. It's a great starter rebuild tank-- big deck so it's easy to build on, screws & post holes won't make your life hell, very forgiving when it comes to wick tails etc, pretty much once you get the right diameter of wick in your coil, you can just trim it to touch the deck and be alright, instead of worrying about placing the tails just right and all that other crap... in the interest of honesty, I'll tell you, it isn't the top-best flavor of the 3, my personal fav for flavor is Billow but that like most RTAs can be a bit more temperamental until you get the hang of its idiosyncrasies and I really don't wanna lead you into more frustration. Same for a bunch of others. And frankly, coming off the kanger sub, you'll think the Lemo is flavor heaven anyway, so yep that's where I'd start ya ;)

Thanks again,

I don't know how comfy you are with rebuilding, but it isn't as hard as we make it sound. If you need some tips, you're in the right place to find em lol ... your istick will tell you the ohms, so just make sure you're in standard mode not TC (assuming you start with basic Kanthal wire, which I think is easier) and you'll be alright. Also come to think of it, the Lemo I got my dad a few months ago came with a coil installed and it was actually a good one. The only RTA I've yet been able to say that about, lol. Don't know if they still do that but hey! :)

Oy... Hey John? Got you & OP confused for a sec re current setup... OP had the istick, you said you're on an ego one? I don't know that one...does it read your ohms? If not, you'll need to buy an ohm reader too. They aren't expensive ($8-10?) but wanted to throw it out before you place an order for a tank you have to build coils on...cuz building without an ohm reader isn't safe. Sorry, should have double checked that w you first.

Mamabear,
It's all cool. I only have one question, I have a Kangertech Subox mini.
Will the Lemo 2 attach to it properly? (threaded the same?)
Thanks,
John

Can you give a little more info:

Coil size? .5 ? 1.2?
Wattage settings that you've tried?
It's a 0.5 ohm coil and says 15-45w. I was having the problem at about 40w but ive been using it at 30w lately and seems to be having more success. Also I haven't been letting my juice run out before refilling. Making sure I can still seee juice through the windows. Its been alot better since. A friend of mine has the kangertech subtank with 0.5 ohm and he vapes at around 40-45 producing huge clouds and only gets the burny taste after a week or so when its burnt out.
