I was about to order some AW 18650's for my VTR when I came across this thread....I have Efest flat tops which fit, but they are crap batteries and I only got three or four cycles out of them before they quit. Maybe they were knock offs, who knows, but I got them from a reputable ecig supplier. Does anyone know if the AW's will fit ? I haven't seen anyone selling AW flat tops, so I was going to take a chance with the button tops.

Perhaps start a thread inquiring "Which batteries are confirmed to fit the VTR mod?"

I've seen this issue happening a lot over the last few months, that some batteries fit and others don't. I don't own a VTR and have no vested interest. Now if actual owners could state which batteries DO FIT, then we all have a resource list to go to.

I read that Grimm Green had some Efest batteries which would NOT fit the VTR. Efest makes several 18650 models, so apparently some do fit and others do not.

I know this fits: 18650 Battery Flat-Top 1600mah

'Cause ima using it right now. :)

The Efest 18650's I was using were flat top and measured 65mm but there seemed to be a little bit of play when placed in the chamber. The AW 18650's are also, apparently, 65mm but I'm wondering if the button top will prevent the chamber from closing fully ?

The button tops I tried at the shop where I got my VTR did just that, the little door would not close. The flat top Efest I have is 65mm (pulled it out and measured... wait, that sounds odd) but I'm not noticing much "play". At least nothing unusual. The top battery contact inside has a spring and the closed and latched door to the battery compartment has a bit of "give" if you push it but I took that as normal.

Thanks, mkbilbo. Yes, "give" is a better word for it than "play" ...some VTR suppliers are recommending the AW 18650 for the VTR, but AW does not manufacture a flat top in that size. I wanted to try AW's because of the great feedback on their life span. Was it a button top AW that you tried out ? If the little door won't close, I'll just stick to Efest's and replace them more often.

I tried a few different ones but I don't think any were AW. I'm actually hearing good things about Panasonics from other VTR owners but haven't tried any myself yet.

Don't know about AW but like I said the efest button top fit (I have 4). Don't know if the two are different sizes or not.

I googled battery information on the AW (button top) which says it's 65.9mm. Doesn't make sense 'cuz that's closer to 66mm. Anyone know where I can find accurate information ?

The Sony VTC 4 and 5 fits perfectly as does all my flat top IMR efest batteries. I have fit a button top in my VTR it was a trustfire TF18650 unprotected the problem is its tight and the battery door just latches under tension. I figured it wasn't good for the Mod or the battery and bought all new flat top batteries Sony VTC 4 and 5's

For the OP your in York Pa I'm in Baltimore Md. I will swap you the correct battery for your VTR I can always use the button tops in my flashlights. I have 50 button tops I rotate through my flashlight collection so one more wont hurt. Let me know I have a brand new VTC4 sitting here never used.
