Okay, so who has some really cool push buttons? I'm looking for something illuminated or metal(lic), not much wider than an ego button (6mm-9mm). Radioshark has hardly anything good and ebay and google isn't being very friendly. I really like this "angel eye" illuminated push button but the smallest I can find of that is 16mm, a bit beyond my requirments. Oh well...

So who has cool/unusual/small buttons? Where do you buy yours?

8mm Pushbutton-8mm Pushbutton Manufacturers, Suppliers and Exporters on Alibaba.comPush Button Switches

Alibaba is a great place to buy all sorts of stuff like that, finding one that'll fit width, and depth is going to be your issue depending on what your'e trying to do.
Another thing to try is local hardware stores, you'd be surprised what all uses switches ^_^ Computers stores like microcenter, ncix, directron, frys, tigerdirect, and also computer modding stores such as articmod, frozencpu, xoxide, and MNPCTech would be good places to look as well.

Good Luck!!

Thanks Dracconus!

I muddled about on Ali but didn't seem to find those before. I think I stopped looking there because so few items come without a min. order.

I'm planning for two projects right now: converting a pipe and rebuilding a couple dead/fried e-power switches mechanically.
Only the e-power gives me serious size constraints. I figure the max my mounting hole can be is 9mm-10mm, the ID of
the tube is ~16mm, so overall inside length should be within ~14mm. I've made one already, it works quite nicely, but I
used a DIP tactile switch and it just feels klunky and looks awkward.

Local hardware stores are hard for me to get to. The closest is radioshack, which sucks in-store. There's a Fry's about 45 miles away. I'm sure a lot of those companies have websites, too, though. Thanks again!

Those dimensions are what's going to restrict you the most. Whenever I do casemods for my computers, or for customers, the FIRST Thing that I take into account is any type of button, window,or fan mod that I'm going to do, so that I know whether I need to punch anywhere to extend width, or make a mod up to fit the mod that I'm doing onto the pre-existing case.

Frys.com, newegg.com, ncix.com, frozecpu.com, xoxide.com, directbuy.com, directron.com, tigerdirect.com, frozencpu.com - they're all good places to check for things like buttons ESPECIALLY the modding ones, xoxide, frozecpu, newegg, and ncix.

By hardware stores, I literally mean HARDWARE - like: hammers, pipe wrenches, and the likes. I've found that my local lowes, and home depot both sell an incomprehensible amount of custom switches, and push buttons due to me just "thinking they wouldn't carry them."
