Button problems

My button keep sticking. I will take it apart and use some silver conductive grease on it and it will work awhile and then start sticking again.

What can I do to prevent this from happening?

Clean it very well and do not use grass / oil / noalox in it.

Jumi is correct.. I would just clean it really well and remove all the silver conductive grease from it and the spring or magnets. The Grease could be your problem. that stuff tends to collect dust and dirt then it grimes up pretty bad. If you use it just put it on the bottom of the nail in a light coat and the threads of your GG tubes and ends... Let us know how that works for you..

The first few times this happened I just took it apart and used a wet cloth to clean and then dried it. This is not keep it from sticking. It really does not stick but it just gets hard to push or will not let me push the button and part of the time if I push in a different position it will work.

do you use the magnets or the spring in your switch?

also what GG device?if you use the magnets they might be getting in a bind somehow. Magnets on the GGT switch can be a little tight fit and I could see how that could cause them to bind. I also had one of my springs coils that got a little distorted and that can cause some problems as well.

I had the button with the spring in it. I was thinking maybe the spring is causing the problem. I just ordered the magnets and will try these.

Well good luck. Try a bic ink pen spring.

martha: I had the same issue with my button ..I used sandpaper (1000) for polishing the inside tube of the button.. Now everything is fine

Yes, ggero is spot on. I have had this issue as well and I rolled up a tiny bit of sandpaper and got the inside tube of the button and it no longer sticks. Plus I think I have better conductive contact area now. I also had to push the button from different angles to get it to work and this solved that issue also. Seems that the button will get little areas that have a build up of something that causes the contact zone of the button to not make contact...

We have to look at button's base to check if it is black from a short and also check the axis that is attached on the cap for black marks too
