I recently upgraded to a Fuhattan in black.. I'm running a plume veil at about .25 ohms. I know my battery is fine.. AW 18650.. But it's so weird. It's sparking between the base and the button and not allowing the coils to heat up. Like its shorting on the mod side almost. I've already tried putting a micro coil in the negative post that the button screws in and it's still sparking. What the heck is going on?

Stop right now and thoroughly clean your mod, including the switch.

It may also be your battery isn't able to make good contact with the switch, in which case it's going to get more complex -- but you should thoroughly clean that switch.

Make sure there are no bare spots in any wires it does sound like it's shorting out is this a home built mod I'm new to vaping but know a little bit about electrical things sorry if I bothered anyone I don't mean to just new here

No bother at all, Larry - Good question

Is your switch insulated it is sparking were the switch meets the mod box? Try taking a O ring and place it under the switch and so if that works make sure the switch is not touching the metal of the mod body here's a idea try to take the switch off the mod and se if it works off the mod like remove it and hook wires back up and press it if coil fires then try the O ring or electrical tape around switch don't let it touch the metal area

Why would you be bothering anyone? This is a discussion forum and jumped into the discussion per the reason the forum was created. :)

Alright, it has been cleaned and seems to be working well. There was a little bit of metal fragments on the magnets, so that could cause a problem. No it's a good build no shorts up top, and yes if it keeps shorting I plan to sue the oring trick, but it shouldn't be shorting (brass switch into aluminum housing would make no sense for short) I'll post back if it starts sparking again. Gonna charge my batteries and see what she does, that short seemed to drain those batteries like no other

hence the danger in a short. it will over drain a battery very quickly and go into thermal runaway. same thing if you put it in a case or a backpack and accidentally continuously fired it.

looks to me like a hard lesson learned the easy way... best of luck.

Glad it was the switch and you didn't dawdle in sorting it. :) If you haven't, it'd be wise to check your tube for burrs and keep a real eye on your batteries (their wraps, checking their voltage before/after/during) more than usual over the next bit.
