Ok, So I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the threads on the locking button getting a little dirty and what is the best way to clean them. I'm leaning towards taking it apart to remove the locking nut so that I can expose all the threads. Any GGIdeas??

Yeah, I swapped one of my first batch GGTS buttons with the newest style buttons, its quite easy to remove. Just grab the locking nut with a plier or something similar...its a lil snug. Those threads do get quite dirty over time....its a beautiful thing when ya can basically break EVERYTHING down on the GGTS to clean it up. Takes me some time to clean the whole unit, but its worth it.

I just got my GGTS, and I can unscrew the locking nut all the way to the "locked" position, then just keep going. It is a little snug, but the whole assembly comes out without tools.

Yeah, Mine was too tight, I needed a plier to grab the bottom lock nut, and just a slight turn....then it was all by hand. It was more that I needed the leverage and couldnt get my fingers down on the lock nut. Whatever works for ya......

Quas, if you see that the locking nut is moving all the time without stopping then the button is unthreated. Please put out the button and screw tight the head and the bottom of the button. Then put it in place again:)

My button is good, imeo. I only mean to say I can put it in (or out) with no tools, only fingers. Easy! :)

When you unscrew the safety nut all the way, it locks with the button, and the whole assembly will unscrew. You don't need to turn the little locking nut.

I see now what you mean quas, and yes thats the way:):)
