first post!

Ive had my joye510 for about a year now, but stopped when my atomizers gave out on me about 6 months ago. Ive been smoking real cigarettes since theyve died and last night I decided to kick the real tobacco habit and switch back to vaping.

Now my question is should I just buy a brand new 510 kit or just buy new atomizers? Ive heard that 510 batteries lose their ability to hold a charge after about a year, or is this false knowledge?

Thanks in advance, Im hoping for some quick replies because I wanted to order it tonight!

If you want to stick with slim small ecigs - If you have auto batteries, buy some manual batteries. Or buy a new manual kit. The 510 manuals are totally sealed on the threaded end, safe from being damaged or killed by juice leaks, and make it easier to get a good hit.

Buy 2-3 standard resistance 510 attys for testing juices, a drip tip (you can use a drip tip when you have manual batteries),and some blue foam stuffing for your old 510 carts (under $1 at strictlyejuice.com). Buy Boge 510 standard resistance cartomizers, a much nicer way to vape than atty+cart - hold more juice, need juice added less often, more consistent vape. Slim ecigs cannot use the hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers and can be damaged by them. Use the attys to test juices and to vape juices that are too thick for cartos. Use the Boge cartomizers to vape your favorite thin juices. I get the best vaping out of cartos with 20% or less VG juices, particularly light clear juices that leave little or no flavoring sediment to clog the carto stuffing (sediment also gunks up atomizers).

If you want a more powerful non-slim kit with much longer charge, go to Liberty-Flights.com, press the 20% off upper left front page, then look at Riva 510 (the Lite Bundle is under $30 if you pressed the 20% off - 2 complete 750mah Rivas and these can also use the Boge 510 cartomizers but the Riva can use both the standard resistance and the hotter low resistance. I recommend you learn to use the standard resistance first. Note - the slim 510 can be damaged by a Riva or Ego fast charger cable so label the cable. And the slim 510 can be damaged by the LR (low resistance) atomizers that come with the Riva.

How I fill Vapor4Life KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that)
Sop up any loose juice above the stuffing
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% Vg or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. I sometimes use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel)

BTW - WHICH Jersey? You should add either UK or "New" Jersey if US. If you are in the US, those are US vendors I listed. If you are in the UK visit Liberty-Flights.co.uk to look at Riva. I do not know if they have the 20% off but I think there may be a code for 5% off?

I'd just buy batteries and atty's separately if you're going rock the 510's.

OR

You can look into getting one of the new 510n's which are very very sweet. Huge battery, higher voltage vaping and you can still use your favorite style atty's.

I wanna get my hands on a kit for review myself. A 510 kit is going to cost you around $50 I think. Anyways, check em out. Am pretty sure you're gonna love em.

I've been vaping on and off for about a year now. Attys kicked out on me and switched back to analogs out of frustration. Last night I decided it was time to 'quit' and switched back to vaping. I used my partially dead atty today until I found the how to revive attys thread. I boiled some water added lemon juice and some salt placed the atty threaded side up and didn't have the water level too high so that the boiling water would squirt out the top. Lo and behold my atty is working like the day I bought her!

I still ordered a new kit today, and I do use manual batteries. It was 35 bucks for the kit plus 8 for priority shipping. My mother in law who I switched over to vaping (who switched back to analogs indefinitely) gave me her 510 that passed through the wash (batteries fried but atty still works!) and her extra juice. I've got 50 ml of different juices and a new kit on it's way and been analog free for 24 hours! I feel confident that I can actually switch to vaping and then eventually kick the nicotine habit indefinitely.

Thanks for all your help and ecf forums is the ....!

New jersey btw!
