I do a healthy mixture of both. If I don't want to wait (like the other day when I had a hankering to try dripping and bought an Igo-W) I'll go B&M. But mostly it's online because the price point is so much lower. I can't justify putting my family in financial trouble in order to say that I support local businesses. It's

That said, I'm starting to come to the realization that ejuice is something I need to try before I buy. The internet lies all of the time, and I'm tired of buying a juice that is touted as the bee's knees only to buy a bottle and come to the realization that it sucks (Boba's Bounty is the highest profile juice that I ordered having never tried it, deciding based only on reviews and descriptions, and think it's pretty disgusting). I've wasted lots of cash buying juices that sound great only to find out they're nasty, and I'm about done with that. Fortunately I have a vape shop in town that has decided to be a supplier of niche products (higher end mods and clones), particularly their juices. They sell only very high quality stuff (Five Pawns, Ragtime, The Vial, Uncle Junk's, and a few others), and I've gotten very many quality juices from them. It also helps that their house juices are generally very good. They don't sell the same Nicquid et al juices that virtually every shop sells.

In short, hardware that I want quicker than the internet will allow I buy locally, otherwise it's online. Ejuice I'm switching to a try-before-you-buy only model, and that means a local (wherever I am) vape shop.

Hi all, I'm new but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

I do both. I vape WTA e juice and, unfortunately, there are only to companies that make it, so online for juice. But, I have a B&M pretty close, so I meet most of my maintenance needs there. I am fortunate that they are quite reasonably priced and I find I don't pay too much more than I would online. I get it right then and there, no waiting. Maybe if WTA starts gaining popularity, I'll be able to get there as well.

I actually stopped into one of only two brick and mortar stores that I know of in Chicago yesterday. The day before I was washing out my AGA t2 and accidentally dropped the glass tank in the sink breaking it, so I thought I'd stop in to see if they had one even though I knew it was a long shot. I tried to strike up a conversation with the guy who owns the place, since I don't have many people to talk about vaping to, but he was completely uninterested. His salesman was trying to sell someone some really expensive mod and the last thing he wanted was me there talking about all the cheap stuff I've gotten online. I bought a drip tip for six bucks since I was there anyway and the entire exchange went down as if it didn't matter. I understand where their coming from, they aren't selling high volume like online places so they have to sell high end stuff at a mark up, but I also understand that I'm not obligated to patronize them if they're going to be so lukewarm with their reception. I just want the stuff that I need and don't feel it's my obligation to help the brick and mortar shop stay in business. Why should I pay $70 for something I can get for $40 online anyway?

I'm with you on that, I had the same experience at a new local vape-chain here in town; only the guy was on his facebook.

The only thing is, if the purveyor is not enthused, how can I be enthused. And who's not to say a great experience from a small time purchase wouldn't lead to a bigger purchase down the road, or to recommend the shop to someone new who doesn't have a problem dropping a couple of hundred.

Only if more brickn' mortars acted like they appreciated their clients, no matter how small, they would set themselves nicely up for the long haul.

I generally buy from my b&m, except for kanthal. Whats great about the particular one i go yo is thar its only a five follar mark up from online, and theyre happy to fix anything for you, even if not bought from their store. Theyll order any mech mod you wantfor ya, and tgey carry clones and authentics. Also tgree couches and a round table for chilling out. In house mixes and five pawns. Evo, halo, suicide bunny, its like a physical online store

Buy from a local vape shop. If good (Knowledgeable) service and decent prices. More than the internet but less than double the price. There is no finer experience. Buy on internet. Price and wide selection. Service, even if good, requires postage both ways. There are merits to both.

Man, I sorry to hear so many people having bad luck at B&Ms. Any business from vaping to hotdogs won't stay open if you don't show enthusiasm for your product.

I go into my local vape shop and they greet you like an old friend even if it's your first time in the store. If they are show a customer a new product they will call you over and give the product run down to both of you rather than leave you standing looking dumb. Most are super knowledgeable and don't try that high pressure sale crap like some used car dealer. Oh we have some bad eggs in town of course, but they will die out with the good competition around.

I started changing from smoking cigs to vaping about 3-3.5 months ago. I started with a ego starter kit from my local shop and have been using them for all of my vaping needs, exclusively. But I noticed that I could get the same products for much less online. My dilemma is that I still want to support my local shop but, I can not bring myself to outrageously over pay for the same exact product.

Not sure if anyone else has run into this situation and if so, how'd you handle it?

I understand that brick and mortar retail stores need to mark up prices but, I also want to save money. How much of a mark up is fair? 20%? 50%? Even 100%?!?!?

Some B&M stores are good, juice is good, prices are decent, however ive gone to where i get certain things from them and order my juice online, gives you more options and sometimes better prices. I generally only use my B&M stores now to get atomizers TBH. Theyre about the same price everywhere anyhow.

but to be totally honest, my B&M stores around me have really watered down juices with very little flavor.

There's a couple of really good reasons to use B&Ms. The first is that B&Ms are the perfect place to learn. A lot of us forget how confusing it was getting a start in vaping. For a complete newcomer, the choices are daunting, and there is a lot of crap in the starter kit category. A B&M is the perfect place for a person looking to start vaping to talk to experienced people, and get first-hand guidance on what equipment will fit their needs, and budget.
Second is community. Online forums are great, but there's nothing better than a physical space where you know you can ask questions, share experience, and above all, actually touch the products before you put down your hard earned money.

Of course, we should never undervalue the power of instant gratification. ;) There's no better feeling than walking into a B&M with a fist full of cash, and walking out with a new toy.

I'm the same way, the B&M i go to carries some of the atomizers that are a little more difficult to find in my area. (Omega, Nimbus)

Therein lies the problem.. you were talking about stuff you bought somewhere else for less, to the store owner, as well as while there were other customers in the shop. That's probably why you got such a luke warm reception.

If I would've owned the shop, I would've tossed you out. Going in and bragging about the deals you got from somewhere else is not a good way to get a shop to start talking to you about vaping.

To me, the area I live, I know of a few shops within an hours drive. Nothing is close so I buy most of my items online but one shop just opened that is about 40 minutes from me. I support them, yes there prices are higher than online but it's also good to be able to go in and shoot the S, pick up some juice and check out the new merchandise. Those that have multiple shops close to home are lucky.
