Hey guys,

Upgraded to a mech mod finally, currently waiting on a nemesis and patriot from fasttech.

I also ordered a pair of hybrid batteries. But I'm a bit skeptical on the battery.

When researching for a battery, I found the 3.7V sony hybrid US18650VTC4 2100mAh 30A to be the best fit for me.

On fasttech, I just realized that the battery I bought was instead 3.6V VTC4. https://www.fasttech.com/p/1628900

I realize that they are mostly clones, but it says authentic. So why is the battery .1V off, did I make a bad buy?

Also, I did my share of research on batteries when getting into mods, but I have a few questions. I know I should never exceed the amp limit of a battery when getting into mods, but I can't find the amp limit. Is it simply 30A?

And about the Max/min Voltage, Their values are 4.25/2.5. Does this simply mean at a full charge I'll vape at 4.25 and it'll slowly die to 2.5? Additionally, whats the "rated" voltage mean (3.6v).

I'll be doing much more research on batteries.

The VTCs at Fasttech are authentic, no need to worry. A fully charged battery is at 4.2v, and it can usually handle an overcharge to 4.25 without breaking (though it should be as close to 4.2 as possible) - that's probably what's meant if ft's specs. It's the charger's job to see to it that batteries aren't overcharged, and cheapo charges sometimes aren't up to the task. The nominal voltage is around 3.7, but some manufacturers and sellers list 3.6 instead. It's the same really. You should never exceed the amp limit of the battery, and it's good to leave a safety margin (for example, to not exceed 25 amps with a 30a battery). Use an ohms law calculator, enter you're coil resistance and fully charged battery voltage (4.2), to see how many amps your setup draws.
