Been vaping the with the Kanger tanks for a the last few months. Have a few cheapo RBA's, and have no qualms about recoiling and wicking, but it seems a bit overwhelming with the amount of tank fed RBAs on the market. Been looking at the AGA T2, and the Kayfun, even the Promethius. Anyone have any advice or experiences they can help me out with in making a decision... or 2?

Ah, pardon my improper lingo. I understand the basic design of the KFL. What separates it from the Genesis classification? I see it as an RBA that wicks from a lower positioned tank, didn't know that wasn't considered a genesis. Aside from that, thanks for the advice, with clone prices on FT its probably just worth it to buy one of each and figure it out for myself. The RSST looks pretty nice, but doesn't it have a plastic tank?

The Kayfun is not a Genisis. It puts out great flavor and lots of people like them. I find them easy to build using silica but am still learning.

The AGA-T is a Genisis atty and if built with SS mesh as they typically are, are harder to get right than the Kayfun types. I don't know the Promethius, but I think it's another Genisis. The RSST has a insulated wick hole which should make it easier to set up but I have never used one. The downside is the plastic tank so you can't use any tank cracking juices in them. These attys have great flavor, TH and good vapor production when they are working right.

If I were you I would do a bit more research on them and chose between the RSST or the Kayfun. Don't rule out the frippers likek the IGO-L either. They are also great, but of course require dripping.

Have fun and vape on!

I don't know the *precise* definition of Genisis style tanks, but they're all fed by capillary action (and often tilting the device too) from a vertical wick, with the coil above the tank.

The Kayfuns (such as the wildly popular KFL+) are sometimes referred to as 'vacuum tanks', and they operate by the partial vacuum you create when you suck through the centre tube.

Think of them as being like Protanks on steroids :)

...
by the definition above technically a iclear30 can be seen as a gene lol
...

The coil is *in* the tank in an IClear.

As far as I know all Gennies have a side air hole too, in contrast to the IClear's hollow centre post, though I don't know if that's one of their defining characteristics.

[edit - thinking about it, I'm pretty sure it must be. I can't imagine any practical way to get the air onto the offset coil from a hollow centre post in a Genisis...]

I love both of my zen gennys, a few try's and I got the wick wrapping right. The rsst is a great lil tank for the money works Pissah... Only downside is as someone said already...plastic tank. I had the aga... Wasn't bad, but it was a pain in the but because of the tiny (I mean fu$&@?g tiny...) lil center post screws they use. I also have a Russian (kayfun clone), works great with a stainless U wick. Take the time to watch a few YouTube videos on ss mesh wick building and you should be gtg. Also many sites sell pre made ss wicks... They work great and don't hurt the wallet much. Good luck!

I agree, take the time to watch a few youtube vids concerning the genny's you are interested in, dont make the same mistake I did and just buy one without enough info. I have an aga-t2 (among others) gathering dust in my cabinet because its such a pita to build. Afaik, the tank on the rsst is polypropylene, making it resistant to normal tank crackers. Basically, for my level of hamhandedness, best i can handle is my igo-w.

Okay sir I figured a little photo will help show you the difference between attys, the Zen is IMHO the simplest followed by the Rsst. I find that the spring on the rsst is a bit wonky but at 25$ vs 130 for the zen.... The Russian (kayfun clone) is easy to setup with silica but I'm not a fan of anything other than Ss mesh. Filling the Russian can get interesting but once you get a hang of it no leakage. The zen only leaks when on its side...and the rsst leaks if you don't have the nifty stoppers in the fill hole that it is supplied with. The zen and Russian both have floating/adjustable contact pins so they both sit flush on all of my mods... The rsst is hit or miss...hope this helps.

RSST is a good one to consider... it is a Genesis type tank, and yes the tank is plastic but it isnt acrylic, its Polyethylene ( i think) which isnt affected by juices like acrylic. And, you can use a myriad of coil/wicking options in this tank. I set mine up with 3mm Silica feeding a bed of cotton with cotton in the coil. Works better than the SS mesh setup. Another Plus, you can change the coil/wick without having to empty the tank... :)
