Getting a mouth full of E-fluid!

Stupid Kanger Protank hits that magic level and decides to flood. Kanger T3 follows suit, RSST with SS rope wick decides it's going to have half a mil of condensation inside the cap when I decide to tilt it while relaxing in my recliner.

Vivi Nova seal fails at the top, AGA-T2 coil explodes and has the exact same issue as the RSST because I looked at it funny. (10 watts is honestly too much for the AGA-T2 and 32ga kanthal, no idea what I was thinking.)

Ugh. vaping is great.. Maybe an iClear 30 will be less inclined to share the juice with me though?

Seems like this is a constant issue, Maybe a Carto tank? Maybe some kind of idiot proof vape for when I'm just relaxing around the house?

i've been using protanks, vivi novas and vivi knockoffs for 2 weeks without leaks or liquids in mouth. did your problems start right away or over time?

It's been going on since I got into vaping. It's not like they all do it every single day, but I tend to switch up my vaping a lot throughout the day. I have a home vape, Car vape, work Vape, and traveling vape when I'm like walk around down town.

They don't all fail every single day, but at least one of them fails in a given day. My pro tank is probably the worst offender when the fluid level gets low, or it's let sit right-side-up for a day or so.

This was more of a gripe thread than a "Helm meh!" thread lol. Vaping has changed my life and my Girlfriends life for the better by about 300% and so after around 3 months I had to have something to complain about!

Worst flavor to get in my mouth thus far? Tiramisu from My Vapor Store.. was probably the worst thing to ever get in my mouth :-:p

Did you look at the wicks? Take the head apart and make sure that there is wicks on top of coil. 2 is normal but you can do one. If their is only one, add one. see if that helps. I always use a q-tip to wipe out the center also when you fill it. Check rubber seal on the head too, make sure not cracks or cuts. Tighten everything firmly

I did, and there was two, removed one, insta leak, added it back, still leaks. Took a second silicone seal, turned it upside down so there is two seals (one over the top of the wicks, one over the air tube in the center, same deal. New heads and it won't leak for 2-3 days, then it starts leaking. Not sure what else to do. Any time I try and rebuild one of the heads it leaks no matter what I do.

I've never had a Protank leak or give me a mouthful before and I rebuild the heads myself too. Cotton and silica work fine.

Hmmm... the only thing I can think of is to make sure that rubber cap that fits back over the post is snug. I always run my fingernail around the edge (around the post) so it seals down nicely and isn't "flipped up".

That might be me being .... retentive, but yeah.

If you're getting a mouth full of liquid its either:
1. being overfilled, thus going into the center. I always use a q-tip and clean it out after filling.
2. excess juice getting to the coil through the wick. if 2 are in there... try a small 3rd wick for flood control on top
or
3. a bad seal between the coil head and the center. tighten the coil to the tank and tank to battery. screw the battery to the tank, not the other way because this can cause the tank to loosen a little (if it leaks from the bottom)

What coils are you using? LR or SR? Long neck or short? Kanger Protank, or Evod/T3? Kanger coils for protank,t3 and evod should be universal. Never had a problem with switching mine

Overfilling isn't an issue, I'm careful about that part.

The EVOD heads work great, I get 2.5Ω heads and they work great for a few days then they slow start to leak. Same happens for all the heads in my T3 as well, I get 3-4 days of good performance/no leaks and then they start to leak.

Adding more wick is an idea, I've kept them at 2 flavor wicks and never really wanted to add more cause the flavor is already muted in the ProTank. I'll try that with all the used heads I having laying around.

I never checked to see if the seal is getting flipped up around the bottom like was suggested so I'll check that ASAP.

Great advice, thanks folks!

rounding third and heading home...
try an iclear 30- tastes better than my protank and never leaks or dry hits. protanks and evods are too hit and miss, especially if you start messing with their wicks. why doesn't someone make a clearo with upgraded wicks- I would gladly pay extra for an upscale wick as an option since I have no ability(plus eyesight and arthritis) in that area.

It's funny you say that. I made a SS rope wick for my Vivi Nova, it was a tight fit and the Kanthal, while producing a beautiful coil invaribly keeps burning out really fast for me. I make sure its not hotspotting but the SS rope seems to allow the wick to slide around just a bit and so it can hotspot at a moments notice. It vaped great, didn't leak and wicked like a dream, plus not dry hits! It was just too much of a hassle to run it at 6 watts to keep it from insta-popping the coil the moment the device shifted just right.
