Hi there, my 1st post here.

I have tried ecigs in the past, various disposables and skycig. I didnt last too long with either, but after trying another persons mod i think its time for another try.

I have had a browse through a few threads review sites and youtube videos, i dnt know much at all about them. But I like the Vamo V5 for the price and performance balance (not tried it myself, basded purely on videos and reviews)

I was about to take the plunge on a kit from ebay and add the Aspire Nautilus tank. After speaking to a sales person from a vape site. He informed me the kit was cheap parts and that I'd be better off with buying the body and parts separately?

The end deal looked like this:

Vamo V5 body
Aspire Nautilus
5 Extra coils 1.6ohms
Nitecore i2 charger
Samsung 18650 2600mah battery

For a total of £80.

Is this the right kit to get for that money?

Is there another Mod i should consider? I am open to all really, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You will be OK with the Vamo, some people do run into problems with the lack of durability (if you have the dropsies like me, you can murder a vamo in 2 seconds with a fall lol) and there are some known issues with the threads that can be solved with an ego to 510 adapter. Put it on and leave it be so that you dont damage the soft threads when you take your tank on and off.

You may find a pleasant a;ternative to be an MVP2 if you are concerned with the threads or of dropping the vamo, Innokin iTaste MVP Version 2 Kit, Im not certain this is the cheapest UK vendor at all- it was just the first one I found. It is also VV/VW with a puff counter and an ohm meter. Battery is internal so you do not need batteries and a charger and it works great with the nautilus as well. And the battery life is ridiculously long.

Please know - if you choose the Vamo, take care not to damage it and you will be very happy with it, the MVP is only a more durable suggestion with great function if the threads or drops are concerning to you.

You will be happy no matter what you pick :D

Hold on a moment. (steady.....)

Which "vape site"....?

I just priced up a Vamo V5 (stainless steel) with batteries (1 small, 1 big), charger and Kanger Aerotank for £62.99.

OR, you could consider an MVP v.2.

Either way, prices will vary wildly. MVP £34.99 myepack OR £42.99 (one "popular" online store) OR £59.99 from everybody's favourite high street shop. £79.99 from somewhere I won't even mention. That's the world of e-cigs.

I don't use ebay.. nor do I recommend anybody else does. (This will get me flamed off the forum, most probably) but the risk is just too great.
E-cigs aren't actually allowed to be sold on ebay UK.... (that's why everything is called shisha or e-shisha...etc.)

I have a Vamo and an MVP. For me, the MVP wins... by a whisker. IF I only ever used big tanks, then the Vamo would probably get used more...

Don't spend £80.... either way.... :)

Dang it CL you said "dropsies" and made me dump my tea mug!

One thing you need to keep in mind about VAMO: The chrome finishes are crap and start to wear through in a matter of a couple weeks. Performance wise they are quit good, but if I was going to repeat the experience I would only get one in stainless steel.

Thanks for the reply, I had seen that MVP2, I liked the features only the size seems too big for my liking, I think a vamo v5 is about as big as I want go. Though I had thought about getting it as a 2nd, as like the additional USB slot, but that wont be for sometime yet. though it makes me think Im paying alot for what getting with the Vamo at £60 (not including nautilus) against £40 for the MVP2.

Any other similar sized ones I should consider? The number of them on the market nowadays s pretty overwhelming, and I dont know anywhere to try them.

For the tank, is Nautilus the 1 to get? again ive not tried any except the basic 1s. the only 1s i have looked at so far is this 1 and the Kanger protank and aerotank.

The Vamo is MASSIVE.... bigger than the MVP.....

(it might be less big with 18350 batteries...but that's no way to go if it's your only device)

I read a lot about the vamo before I made my purchase. On any of the chrome models the acid in your sweat will discolor the finish. For a few GBP more get stainless. Right now I'm using my vamo with a Kangertech Aerotank and it hits fantastic. As for batteries I'd recommend efest or aw imr batteries. I also have the nitecore charger and it works great! I do hear a lot about the MVP 2, but if you would like something with interchangeable batteries the vamo is a great choice.

What else can I add (just to confuse you more... :) )

The Vamo in 18350 tube arrangement (mode..) is taller than the MVP. Just measured it.

The Vamo (Stainless) in 18350 is a beautiful piece to look at, whereas the MVP is a kind of walkie-talkie.

1-1

The Vamo uses independent batteries... so if it last long enough, that's a plus.

2-1

:)

It just goes on, and on.

A picture of my vamo and Aerotank in 18650 mode compared to a 16 oz energy drink can.

Dunno if picture worked but its about 2" taller than my drink with the tank and about an inch shorter without.

This^^ the photos are deceiving. The MVP2 is about the size of a cigarette pack and the Vamo is a big ol honkin light saber.

Thanks, yeah i nearly chose a chrome, before the seller advised me against it. He also recommended the Samsung 2600mah 18650, have you tried these? I will want to get more batteries if i continue using the ecig.

I've not tried them nor read about anybody else using them. There is a thread on here for vamo batteries. Mostly I see Sony, aw and efest. Just Google vamo batteries should bring it up.

Ah sorry, I never realised it was bigger, yep the photos are deceiving, though that being said I will eventually get a 16350 batteries for a smaller option and most likely gonna be in my pocket with a wallet and smartphone, so though bigger may still suit me better...As long as i dont drop it lol.

Vamo vs MVP size.

Keep in mind, the MVP comes with everything you need....charger, tank, beauty ring.

With the Vamo, you need replaceable batteries and a charger and a tank. Additional costs.

Those will be fine for a VAMO. One absolute rule about VAMO's: Do not get any protected batteries. The extra circuit in a protected battery is not compatible and the VAMO won't work with them. The VAMO simply will not function with them.

You don't need to go nuts about batteries. Keep in mind that you will need two of them to keep up with vaping and charging but they are good, on average, for 300 charge cycles. Considering most people can get through 8+ hours with an 18650 in a VAMO... two or three batteries should have a useful life span of one to two years. By the time you could even get close to wearing them out chances are you will have purchased a different device that may require a different size or capacity battery.

To start out: Two batteries minimum, three to have an extra as insurance.
