Hi guys,

Hope I posted this in the right place, I have no experience of dripping / rba's at all and have only ever used clearos on my Ego T battery.

I have been trying to decide on a rba and after some research I think I have narrowed it down to two different types. I have a low budget and I know each has it's own benefits and what one guy thinks is great someone else might not like, but anyway.

Firstly the AGA T2 AGA-T+, T2 CLEAR TANKED OR FLAMED GLASS, REBUILDABLE ATOMISER
This appeals to me because I like to vape when I'm at work, or messing about on the PC so the fact I don't need to drip into every few seconds is convenient. I know I need to get some tools and supplies for either of these but I watched some Youtube vids and they don't look that scary.

My second choice is the Igo-l iGo-L Rebuildable Atomizer - Rebuildable Atomisers - PV Parts/Mods
From what I understand this works a totally different way, uses a wick instead of a mesh and you drip onto the coil directly when you want to vape - Not so convenient when I am out and about but I read some really good things about the flavour and vapour production with these.

So really my question is, would either of these be preferable for a first timer? I think I'm leaning towards the AGA but would really value your advice please, oh and do I need a VV battery? I suppose not and I can't afford one just yet.

Many thanks :)

Both the AGA and the igo-l will be huge on an ego battery and may be a bit awkward to carry. If you want something that will fit and look nice, i would grab a phoenix atomizer. Honeatly out of the two you mentioned, i would go with the igo-l. Nice size drip well and has semi adjustable draw. Easy to set up and clean as well. The AGA would be nice, just a lot of potential for issues/steep learning curve.

Thank you for the reply, to be honest running the Vivi Nova is really top heavy anyway so that's not such an issue.
I appreciate your advice and will have a look into the Phoenix with a view to getting a better battery in the next month or so.

Much appreciated.

Your two choices are the two that I was going to recommend. 1 tank and 1 dripper.
As far as a first timer recommendation it depends. The IGO-L will be easier to set up and vape right away. The AGA-T will last longer between top offs, but has a learning curve that you must go through. Both are top notch RBAs.

For tips on how to mitigate all of the problems with set up of the AGA-T, read my blog.

People will tell you that and RBA does not belong on an eGo battery. If you wrap your coil to an Ω that the battery supports or recommends, there is zero validity to the concern. Where you can get into trouble is if you have a short and don't know it (I meter my coils first...) it may damage an eGo battery. Wrap your coils at 1.8Ω to 2.2Ω, test them and you will be fine.

You will eventually want both, the IGO may be a better starter due to cost, ease of set up and less prone to shorts than on an AGA-T set up. If the size of the IGO-L bothers your, get an IGO-S, it is the same diameter as an eGo battery.

If you're running an RBA with an eGo battery, make sure you get a larger gauge kanthal to lower the resistance to something the eGo will push. I won't say that an RBA has no place on an eGo battery, but I highly recommend getting a VV device to run it. I have an AGA and it's taking some time to get right. I also have an RC9 clone the guy said was made by SmokTech that was way easier to set up than my AGA. And it was only $20 and works like a charm. I'm getting huge vapor clouds from my first build with that one.

Hi,

Thanks for the awesome advice guys, I really appreciate it.
Since posting this I decided I better get myself a VV battery - I can't afford a Provari (yet) so I was looking at the V4 Lambo, I have read mixed reviews about it and the built in resistance checker looks like it might not be 100% accurate (like .1 out) but it's better than nothing.

So I think it's going to be an Igo on top of a Lambo. This feels like quite an upgrade from my Ego and Kanger setup :)

The AGA-T+ has been pretty amazing for me. So much so that I ordered another one with a glass tank so that I can vape my citrus/cinnamon containing juices in it without worrying about anything degrading. I've only been building coil/SS mesh setups for a few weeks and it's really accessible with all the youtube videos out there.

The AGA-T Set-Up and First Impressions - YouTube

Good video an ECFer put up. That and his Cobra video are pretty much what got me up and running. Video volume is a little on the low side though.
