1. From what ... is 500mm2 being pulled when the slots are said to need only 200mm2?

2. 50% seems appropriate? Is this not being based on any sort of math or standard at all?

3. As Roly has said...all things fail. What happens when the regulation fails and the mod does work with stacked batts? Or when the Chinese make a mod that says it can't take stacked batts but has such low QC that it actually can?

4. I'm not looking to spend $400 on a mod...are you?

5. Presented for testing to whom? ECF? So ECF has a test standard written up then? And why would I send you a free PV to test when you have no qualifications as a testing body?

Sorry I posted that --- I thought you might like that, as it appeared to me that it just might smooth some ruffled feathers -- afterall some of your ideas have been added, puma. Didn't you post that the specs might not even apply to your mod design?

I poke holes in things...it's what I do. It makes them better :) I work with someone who has a different way of thinking than I do and we use that to our advantage by telling eachother why our ideas won't work and we keep doing that until we find the one solution that neither of us can find fault with.

They might not apply...but who's to say other than ECF staff? That's kind of a problem in my eyes. I'm not ruffled, just pointing out some more shortcomings :) I will say the language looks better now than it did previously.

Aren't there a million threads on safety already? Is there really a need to hijack this one? I'd like some honest opinions on the original question, myself.

Apologies...I would personally go with anything Kicked vs VV. Wattage is where it's at since it adjusts to the load you put on it. If you switch resistance, the Kick adjusts to deliver a near identical vape. However, if you like different watts with different juices, then the Buzz would be a better choice since it's easier to make those adjustments.

I like sweet-vapes.com for juice.

I already did give my opinion and the thread wandering from the topic didn't change it. Considering the two options the OP mentioned, if it were me, I'd go with the buzz pro. -- Now, if I already had the xhaler, I'd probably give serious consideration to the kick because it adds functionality for a reasonable price. But as a *new* purchase where I don't already have the xhaler or batteries, I think the BP is a better value.

The Xhaler is eighty bucks (without the cool button - add 8 bucks if you want/need the cool button) plus a couple of 18500 AW IMRs at 9 bucks each plus 45 for the kick so, $143 USD before shipping (sans cool button - 151 otherwise). The BP is on sale for $119 and if you choose to get two sets of batts from notcigs, add $22.00 USD for a total of $141 USD before shipping and then decrease that by 7.5% with the coupon code ECF BUZZKILL which gets it down to $130 and some change. ---> It's only a ~$13 USD difference, but you would have external control of the "variable" part of VV or VW and you wouldn't be resetting and reinstalling the kick every time you change batteries.

Having to open the mod to use the "variable" part of VW isn't a terrible thing, but I've read many, many VV users say that they like a cooler vape at certain times of the day and a warmer one at other times of the day or after meals etc. For an existing mod to be given a very nice regulator for a nice price is indeed a great thing... but it isn't very handy to make changes.

My opinion nutshelled: For existing mods, the kick is one of the best ideas I've seen in a very long time. // Purchasing a new mod, you may as well have easy access and easy control of its features if you're spending a similar amount of money. If I were buying new, the BP makes a lot more sense.

I hope the OP will forgive us all for the total thread hijack:

I'm baffled by this... on so many levels. Just for instance: The first time I looked at the SB, there was a really clear warning from Chad about stacking batts. He said flat out don't do it. I've seen very similar warnings and statements on sites from nhaler to electronicstix to cov to super-t to lots-of-different-places. On VTPV, Rolygate singled Chad out by mentioning that there are at least three known incidents for the SB. He went on to say that there are mod vendors who don't sleep at night because they know they have tubes out there that are potentially dangerous. ---> So, If I sell you an 18650 mod that can hold stacked 16340s or even stacked 18350s but tell you not to do that, is my mod a single batt mod or is it a stacked batt mod? What if I sell you a 14500 mod? A pair of 14250s fit and some people do indeed put up with short charge times to enjoy 6.0v vaping with their 14500 mods. Is that a single batt mod or a stacked batt mod if I never intended anyone to stack 14250's?

The other reasons for my befuddlement on the single vs stacked statement include all the normal stuff we always read about such as a single big battery having more energy density than a pair of smaller batts plus the handful of thermal runaway reports I've read over the last year about shorted 18650s and etc etc etc.

Don't worry about me.
It's interesting reading what's on everyones mind.

The Buzz looks too 'home-made' for me, plus the new venting on the sides looks silly, then on top of that it's useless if the circuitry fails. I'd rather have the kicked Xhaler.

I like the looks of the Lightnimg Bolts on the sides !!!
They doon't look silly at all, they actually accent the mod !!!!
