Been using a Nautlius tank for a couple of months, been very happy with it except for the common issue of burning thru BDC's (1.6ohm) at an unfortunate rate.

Hearing good things about the new BVC's I bought a pack (also 1.6) and noticed the difference right away. Way better flavor, way better vapor production and fortunately no leaking issues that some people have complained about.

But I have also noticed that I have my Provari cranked up...running between 4.5--5.0 volts compared to 3.3--3.5 with BDC's.....and I am burning through batteries at an astonishing rate. Yesterday in 19 hours I went through 4 four complete cylcles. Having to bring my charger to work until I have a chance to buy a couple more batteries.

I know, I know....1st world problems.

A battery can supply a given amperage over time until the charge is depleted. If your battery is rated at 10C and 2000mah, then it will provide 2 amps current for an hour. If you vape 1.6 ohms at 5 volts, that's about 3 amps. You will have about 45 minutes with the fire button pressed constantly. Vaping is intermittent and you could get much longer vaping time because you aren't pressing the fire button continuously, but that kind of load takes a toll on the battery.

You just have to find a satisfactory vaping level that doesn't stress your batteries. Either that or stay next to a charger and keep one charging while vaping the other. I get up to 8 hours on a 1.6 ohm coil on my Kayfun at 3.5v. Vapor is good at that level.

Would getting the 1.8ohm make a difference? Want to try the BVC, but not at the cost of burning through batteries so fast.

The more the vapor, the more juice you burn. I'm vaping juice faster with the Kayfun than I used to with the Protanks. The Nautilus and the Aerotank Mega went through juice faster than the PT, too.

The BVC is similar to the vertical coils on the cartos we used to vape. Juice rates should be similar. The more efficiently you produce vapor, the more juice you go through.

everything about vaping.. I mean every thing.. is a learning curve it seems. I wouldn't say its the BVC's using up battery, its the user.. but vaping differently. Im 6 weeks into vaping, with lots of different gear now, and stil, almost every day, I learn something new about my technique, gear, etc.

I learned in the beginning, especially with the cheesy entry level gear, i was drawing like a banshee to get a big hit. like hitting a .... or something from my youth =)

well, when I got better gear, i still did that. now, Im realizing I dont need to draw for 30 secs, etc.

with the BVC introduction, I read other posts about increasing watts etc, and because I did invest in a quality Mod, my VS rDNA I can play with temps ( watts ) I p;an to get a Provari in the furture too, but since the 3.0 is coming. may as well wait for that. Besides, I dont "need" another Mod.. but I want one =)
some juice likes 13 watts for more depth, others are fine with 9 watts or less. Im still tinkering.
