It's difficult going from having 3 four-legged dog/kids to 2 within 28 hours. We had no idea that our mini-daschund was so ill. He hid it well. I am thorough, and watch them like a hawk. Even if I had known, there would have been nothing we could do. He had a mass in his liver. We didn't know. He had liver failure and we didn't notice until he showed symptoms. By that time, it was too late. We had to have him put to sleep. He was about to go into a coma. He had a seizure and was in pain. I held him while the vet gave him THE injection. Praise God for drugs, otherwise I couldn't have done that if it hadn't been for Xanax. I have cried like a baby. So has my husband. The house seems unbalanced. You feel something is wrong. We couldn't bury him until today. Vet's office held on to him for us. His little body is in the backyard, but will be waiting in the Rainbow. I miss him greatly. Thank you for the kind words that have already been said.

How many pets do you have, what kind, how old, inside or outside and their names?

I was a cat person until I got Sharli. We now have 2 Maltese. Mine is almost 12 years old and her name is Sharlamane. Everyone falls in love with her as she is so approachable.....unless she is outside, and she protects her territory. She doesn't know she is small. She is smaller than the other one and I think prettier than my husband's. (Dargo was both of ours, and he loved the ladies!) I knew I needed a baby when my grandson was stillborn. I needed something I could baby. I've posted this before. My mother-in-law wanted one and we found her one. Since she is still working, she'd come home and Angel would be raring to go....bounce bounce bounce. She got to the point that she felt she was neglecting her so my husband took her into the home. We already had Sharli and Dargo. But, he had bonded with her and just couldn't allow his mom to give her to anyone but him. Now Angel (who is 8 years old) was bigger than Dargo and played hard. She is more of a tomboy. Sharli is a lady. It's amazing that you get 2 separate pups, same breed, and they are so different....like brothers and sisters.....same parents.....so different. I have one sibling, an older sister, and we are so different. Angel is alot bigger than Sharli, but a true bottomless pit. She'll eat until she could explode. Sharli, on the other hand stops eating when she is full. Sharli doesn't wear a collar as she went into a depression until we took it off. We gave it 24 hrs. She is a voice command girl. She will wear a harness, though. They enrich our lives, but with Dargo gone, they are looking for him. It's sad. But, that's our family and we love them.

I have a cat named Bob, two dogs male and female, male Bully, female Kona. Bully will be visiting the vet on Tuesday to be neutered and hopefully that will keep him from wondering the country side. Bully is a pit bull, dachshund, and lab mix. Kona is a pit bull and grey hound mix. The cat is a cat.
I have a milk goat that's going to kid any day and 30 or so chickens. I don't consider the chickens to be pets but the goat I would say she is....even though I plan to eat her babies. I will soon be getting some sheep and other critters too.
I eat meat!!!

that helped me a year and a half ago. We lost 3 of 4 within a 4 month span. They were each well into their teens, old age just caught up with them. It never really gets any easier. Just remember the good times, and try to think of how good life was for Dargo. I try to do the same.

Now we're blessed with three beautiful retrievers, each a little different. Nicki, Chloe and Buttercup. All girls and all inside dogs. They're a heck of a pack, and I think they're glad to have us.

I remember this one, too, but not until they got to the 1st gate. It's a wonderful story. But you know that animals can sense evil. Back in my cat days, I amost got shredded holding my cat as we were about to go into the dark bathroom before I could turn on the light. She hissed and fought to get to the floor. Of course I saw nothing. I am convinced she did.

Thank you for posting this episode, K7. It helped. :|
