I’ve been using the EGO-T for a year and I’m ready for something new...better. I love the concept of the tank/self-feed system but they just aren’t delivering what I’m looking for. The occasional leak sucks as well. I don’t like cartos, they make my throat itch. I haven’t tried the carto tanks yet. I feel as if I’ve inhaled fiberglass after a carto hit. I’m looking for more vapor in less time as well. I hit the ego for at least 10-15 seconds a puff. VV sounds awesome but I don’t want to be continuously tweaking. I mainly use juicy vapor wicked sick menthol, reduced pg. The only other system I had was a kr-808-2, which was simply garbage. I don’t mind investing some money but not trying to spend Darwin money without ever trying one. thanks in advance for the opinions!

If you don't like cartos, then a carto/tank setup probably isn't going to appeal to you either. I would suggest trying a few of the different clearomizers that are available. When I got frustrated with my eGo-C atty/tank setup, I started using the CE4+ (Stardust) clearos and they worked great on my eGo batteries. There's also clearo tanks available that are worth a try, such as the Vision ViVi Nova and the E2 Apollo tanks. As for VV, Joyetech came out with the eGo-C Twist batteries recently which come with a dial on the end of the battery to adjust the voltage. VV doesn't get much easier than that, and they're available at reasonable prices if you shop around.

Hope this helps.

Try using the new Gotvapes Phoenix 510 Bottom coil clearomizer. I just started using it, and I can attest it does not leak, in fact now that I've filled it a few times, my hands are totally dry from start to finish. It does work fab too, great flavor and vapor. The only thing is that very very thick liquids need time before it starts wicking properly in my experience, like the first 20 vapes you will get a semi-dry hit here and there, not totally dry but noticeable. It does go away and 90% of the fill vapes perfect. I have one filled with 100% VG thats been steeped 30+ days that I have the issue with but my regular 100% VG and PG/VG mixes vape great from start to finish. Give it a try, its not expensive, $12 for 5. see SteelJan's vid on filling etc.....

added: I use the 2.4-2.6ohm version and works well on my eGo & iTaste @ 3.7v. At this setting I get at least 225 long/full drags (iTaste has a puff counter), which is several hours of vaping for me. It's extremely efficient yet huge amounts of vapor. It really is amazing when used properly.

No wonder your tasting the carto filler. 10 to 15 seconds seems extreme. You are probably burning the filler at that point. After that long holding the button down you likely vaporized all of the juice near the coil while not giving enough time for more juice to saturate that area, especially with vg as thick as it is (possibly depending on frequency between vapes). What are you using now on your ego?

Normally if you don't like a carto you wont like tanks that use cartos. Though with high vg you can add more holes or bigger holes or make dremel slots in the carto to allow more juice to fill the carto faster so the coil is fed well.

I like the stardust tanks from gotvapes on an eGo batt. There is a difference between the ones with long wicks and those with short wicks. I never could get the long wicked stardusts to work. they would work about half way and there was a nasty sludge at the bottom. However, the short wicks worked much better. but, you do have to tip it from time to time.
I vape a silver bullet with a 510 to ego adapter and use a stardust on it. not bad. They're $5 so if you hate it you're not out that much.

Yikes, that is a huge draw time! I only draw for 5 seconds max on my LavaTube, and that's more for the insane vapor I get from that. VV isn't difficult at all, while I do occasionally change from 4.0, it's rare. Once you find that sweet spot, you'll know and there will be little desire to change it. Sometimes I go up to 6 for fun, just for a hit or two. Some juices are harsh enough that I need to drop it a bit, but VV isn't constant tinkering unless you want it to be. One thing that I like about the LavaTube, aside from the price, is it fits all of my 510 stuff which I already had from my eGo. I just needed a minor adapter from MadVapes for things I couldn't skip the cone on, like my tanks. Although, had I known about the VV eGo's, I would have just done that, but I don't think they were widely known when I bought mine.

thanks for the info guys. the long drags have been on an atty ive had for awhile. no 10sec hits on a carto. it seems like the cart are flows faster through. i have an lr atty to that i like but i have to hard prim it almost every hit or get a burn hit.
has anyone tried the GotVapes Innokin iTaste VV SQUARED?? it looks like a decent set up at a great price, but heard nothing about it

no doubt a 12-15 draw means that whatever carto/clearo/tank & liquid you are using is the problem, not the eGo. Keep this mind...most products out there are average at best, only a few really work great. Definitely go Low Resistance unless the phoenix bottom coil, this is the only 2+ ohm device I found to produce awesome vapor but I am sure there are others. As a general rule, the lower the resist, the hotter it burns, the more quickly you get vapor thus more vapor. Try a dual coil 1.5ohm smoktech mega carto with 100% VG liquid. You will be amazed at the difference, I promise.

I didn't even like vaping until I bought some Smoktech 510 LR DC Mega Carto's and dropped 100% VG juice in it. It truly was a night and day difference. I bought Johnson Creek Red Oak Tennesse Cured and Swiss Dark....I was finally able to stop smoking analogs with this carto/flavor combo. Please trust me on this.
