So I just did a comparison of a Joye 510 with 24Mg flue cured against 2 analogs - a Camel Wide Blue/Light and an American Spirit Yellow/Light. These are the analogs I smoke the most and I am just getting back in to ecigs. I hope to have a video review on Youtube sometime in the near future, but here is a preview of the results:

Camels - Very little tobacco flavor. Lots of unpleasant smoke flavor. Slight but very unpleasant ammonia/chemical flavor. Throat hit is between 8 Mg and 12 Mg nic juice. GOD-AWFUL aftertaste that stays in your mouth and won't go away:(.

American Spirits - A little more tobacco flavor. Weaker smoke flavor than Camels. No chemical flavor. Throat hit is less than Camels but barely more than 8 Mg nic juice. Still has TERRIBLE aftertaste, though not as strong or long lasting as the Camels.

510 with 24 Mg flue cured from Rocky Mountain Vapor - MUCH more tobacco flavor than the analogs. Great slightly prickly throat hit. Very pleasant but short-lived aftertaste of light, mildly sweet tobacco.

The 510 was miles ahead of the analogs in flavor, throat hit, and just overall nicotine satisfaction:thumb:.

Also I did this comparison with a juice that I do not particularly care for. The flavor of the flue cured is much lighter and does not have the richness or woody smokiness that I was hoping for when I ordered it.

The thing that surprised me the most was that the cigarette smoke flavor that I thought I craved in the analogs was actually a negative in direct comparison with the flavor of the ecig. Also the satisfying throat hit of nic juice was just barely present in the analogs.

Anyone else notice these things in a direct side by side comparison between analogs and a PV?

I had a few puffs on my old brand of cigs the other day - cos I wanted one and decided it was just better to have it than sit and wonder. The headrush off the cig almost made me pass out (no joke) and I felt nauseous from it, and the TH was..kind of absent actually. The flavor - well there really wasn't any, kind of ashy but not puke-worthy just blah. After-taste was nasty and I had to wash my hands twice to get rid of the horrible smell (the smell on my hands was possibly the worst part of it seeing as I didn't actually pass out lol).
The satisfaction thing just wasn't there at all - my brain said that was what I wanted but it really wasn't lol.

This is surprising to me. I use LR 510 attys and 24mg juice, which is a combo that gives a strong throat hit. Almost too much on some juice actually. Almost. :)

For me, whenever I smoke an analog, I can barely finish inhaling because the "throat hit" is so strong. It's a completely different feeling, but analogs are just so harsh, that it seems odd to me that people are saying analogs don't have the same throat hit as e-cigs. Then again, you're talking about camel lights and my experiences are with marlboro menthols, so that might have something to do with it.
