yeah im not that old, furthest back i remember is casette decks in cars being the thing, then this whole 'compact disc' thing just had came out. Big ol VHS tapes, the giant disney plastic containers that held the VHS tapes, and Orange Juilius'. KB Toys. Oh the joys of when I was younger

I'm 47 but I remember having an 8 track deck in my dad's truck, and an 8 track recorder in the massive wooden home stereo unit.

To this day when certain Zeppelin and aerosmith songs come on the radio I still expect to hear "click" in the middle of the song lol

I can remember spending hours at the record store comparing the specs on stylus needles.buying everything on vinyl and recording on expensive chrome tapes so I didn't ruin the records

Those fit in the center of a 45 rpm record, so it fits on a turntable.
45's were smaller vinyl records.
They had one song per side. This is where the term "single" comes from whe referring to songs off an album.

I guess I am old.
The funny thing is yesterday I was at Wal-Mart and saw that in the electronics department they are selling vinyl records now.

What are we gonna play them on?
Turntables have been modernized with a vengeance.

Nothing like my Technics with a static mat and the DiscWasher. Remember the red bottle fit in the handle?

Okay so let's see a show of hands: How many of you vinyl guys use mechs and rebuildables?

*raises hand*

Sadly sold off my LP collection last year. I moved to Vancouver and my folks retired to cottage country. When we tried to price shipping for them, we discovered I had a little under a metric ton of records. Yikes.
