Calling All XL Carry Case Owners

Sorry for all the questions but I have been away awhile and V4L is loaded with new products.

Do the new XL carry cases hold everything tight? I heard the batts fall out of the top and do not stay snuggly fit...

Reason being, I will be taking a fully loaded XL case with me in the car everyday and the smaller case will go in my pocket. That way I am fully loaded for the day and night if I am out and about that long.

Unless they have changed them they do not hold everything tightly. I still carry mine just because of the convience of how much it holds. But usually when I open it, I will have a few carts laying around the bottom just rolling around. batteries seem to stay for me though, but I only put the XLs in it.

I use mine daily and if you open it vertically it creates less of a fall out issue.
I also use the business cards Dohsma sends me as an insert that helps.

I put the caps on my carto's and have cut some little foam pieces to add to help hold everything in and have no issues with stuff falling out.
Can also use some of the foam cut into a larger square to help separate the halves and that also helps hold everything in place. You can get the foam sheet's in different color's in the craft section at wal-mart or hobby lobby etc etc

The molded foam can be removed; I removed the one from the lid that opens upward. The slots can also be cut as needed, but I haven't needed to do that. A standard size case now fits in there as well.

I just use a bag that came with my motorolla wireless headphones, that holds my 2 XL's as many cartos as you need. (I use 3) and 2 30ml juices if you really need to.

I ended up getting a XL case for the storage purposes.

I will say that in order to keep everything nice and tight in its place you will need to use the condoms from some carts, preferably the condoms with the slightly raised lips, not the flat ones. The lips help keep everything tight in place. I even use them on the batteries to keep them from moving.

I also went ahead and slightly modded the case with a surgical knife to allow for 2 more carts to be inserted into some wasted space and can even use the 1 new space as a refill holder.

I am including a picture so you can see the way mine is set up.

You want to keep condoms on any battery shorter than an XL & all of the cartos in it

Even tho the cartos fall out when you open it, I still love my XL case. It is mainly all I use except when I'm at work and require the smaller ones for my apron. I would love a good quality, new improved case. I would deff pay more money for one.

I can fit 2 XL batteries and 4 carts into my small case Just take the plastic in the bottom of the case and the batteries fit side ways

They fit perfect nothing moves around and it close perfect, but im still going to put a piece of soft Velcro on the bottom to make it look better

You know, after reading about all the want for a better XL case and the slight mod I did to mine.

I decided to actually measure the space in the current XL in a whole. Based on my measurments and my first mockup, the current XL case could be designed to hold 12 carts and 6 batteries (short,reg and xl)

They gave a lot of extra padding around everything, but given the denisty of the foam, the foam can be slimmed and tweeked in areas to provide protection and to effectivly provide more room for storage, as well as tightening up the spacing so that things dont fall out.

I think I will make a mockup insert that would fit inside the XL case showing the new layout and maybe V4L could take a look at it, and see if there manafacturer can make changes.

What you guys think? as I dont want to take the time to do this, if others would not be interested in it.

I got the case that holds 4 batterys and 8 cartos and I got the one that can hold 2 batterys and 4 cartos,,,,I'm sent for anything,,,,,now wanting on my missent order from the usps,,,,,now showing it is on it way to my house today yyaaahhhoooo my purple batterys and my WOW cartos,,,,,

I got the same case, thanks for showing adding a space,I will do the same as to hold 2 more carts,,,, I use paper towel to help hold things in it wrks like a dream,,,but will try the condom way too,,,,,

I use XL manuals and they do not fall out of the XL case spots for them on their own, the cartos do sometimes fall out when opened (and I do keep the caps on them) but that's fine by me sincesometimes I have issues with trying to get them out LOL

Mine have the caps on them when putting them in but just use alittle paper towel.

Ok folks.

I decided to put my idea into a visual mold. Just a couple of things to keep in mind.

1. I was unable to get the same high density foam so I had to use what I was able to find, its a softer foam and does not allow me the exact fine detail cut out I need but its close.

2. I just placed the layout on top of the mold already in place thats why its higher than it should be

3. The battery slats look like they will not fit an XL battery, but due to number 1 above I was not able to make a precise enough cut to extend the slot, but they will fit just fine

Anyway, with the right milling machine and the right foam our XL cases could hold 6 batteries and 14 carts. I would say I would buy another if it was layed out like this.
