I hate the repetitive "my x clone is having issues" threads as much as the next guy but I am out of ideas and googling isn't helping. This may be a bit if a novel, I apologize

i lforgot my vape tech pegasus at a buddies house the other night, went back the next day to get it and realized something had gone wrong. I went to throw some juice in my dripper (quasar) and there was basically no cotton left other than some melted/stuck to the deck around the center post. Great. Got home, cleaned it up, built some new micro coils and threw them in with a fresh battery. Sat the mod down unlocked as I always do (had it over a month never had an auto fire issue as the magnets were plenty strong) and it starts firing. Grab it, check out the switch and it had lost the strength of the magnets. Throw was much softer and just effed up. Tore the switch apart, everything was in tact but same issue with auto firing, then it just quit firing altogether. Contacted the seller I got it from, he sent me a fresh switch assembly...didn't help. Figured it was something in the top cap with the insulator or firing ion, he sends me a complete new top cap set up and nothing. Tried all of my Vtc5 battery's and no luck. next angle is the atty is the issue, grab my Tobh out of my box, throw a build on it, attach it...and nothing, f@?!;. Check the Tobh on my stingray...it fires. Can't put my nimbus onto the Peggy as the threads are a bit bigger it seems and won't smoothly screw onto the Pegasus.

So I'm out of ideas now, never had an issue with the Pegasus for the month I've had it until now. Love the crap out of this mod and swore by it. There's no visible issues or damage to the 18650 tube, but could the battery venting or whatever the hell happened while it was out of my possession of done something to it? Just looking for opinions or suggestions. Anyone heard of something similar happening before? Really don't want to have to buy another mod and the old lady is ...... I took back the stingray I've been letter her use. Help.

The new switch assembly had new magnets

lol didn't read fully I guess. So I'm trying to understand, did the battery vent? Or did your friend mess with your mod? With the cotton, did it seem like it had just been completely burned up or had just been removed?

With a new switch and top cap, your mod should fire. So what it sounds like is something's not making contact somewhere, or something is now not conducting at all. The body is just metal, so not much can really happen to make it stop firing. Try getting a good polish and polish the heck out of the inner tube.

Do you have photo's? Can I see the battery? Actually, everything for that matter.

Well maybe venting was a bad word, as the battery was fine or just cut out before any damage was done to it (see pic) I charged it earlier today and haven't had issues, so I'd agree it does seem as if something isn't making contact somewhere. The original black plastic insulator seemed to have damage, it wouldn't stay in the top cap and would just fall out. I put it back in and put a lighter to it to expand it, but screwed it up and there was a bit of the rubber making it not as snug as it should be, possibly causing the atty not to make direct contact with the copper contact, but the new one I got sent was perfect and still no luck. I'm going to try to give the inside if the tube a good polish tomorrow. There wasn't anything that sticks out to me as to the issue, here's some pics. The battery (charged and fired in my stingray earlier fine) the original parts on right and replacements on left in the other pic (all the contacts were cleaned earlier in the day) also, a pic of the quasar that was attached to it and burnt center post.

Not sure what my buddy did with it, I was letting him use it that night cause he ran out of cigarettes and forgot to grab it when I left. The cotton was def burned up, there was just a pinch left near the coils.

Okay, yeah your battery definitely didn't vent and everything looks okay. Your mod likely just was stuck on auto fire and it's kind of awesome that the battery didn't vent. Your buddy surely would have known lol. Yeah, give it a good polish and work around with adjusting the contacts. The insulator wouldn't make your mod not fire, if anything it would cause it to auto fire. Let me know if the polish works, and if adjusting the contacts helps.

Yeah, I tried my Tobh on it and nada. Threw it on my stingray and it fired. So somewheres not making contact but I can't see how. Idk I'll tear it all apart again tomorrow just polish and clean the eff out if it all again. That fails I guess try to have my local b&m check it out. I'm usually able to trouble shoot issues but this ones got me flustered lol

You might want to learn to use a multimeter.
Without it your pissing in the wind.

Have you wire brushed the Threads on the Mod Tube yet?
Are you getting so frustrated you are doing test halfassed trying to figure it out? Like tossing an atty on, but maybe not getting the pins adjusted?

A Mod is nothing and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but a Circle. think of it as a Metal CIRCLE from the Battery Positive around to Battery Negative.
Every Threaded Part, Pin, Switch and Coil are simply Breaks in the circle that must be properly reconnected.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, what happened to your mod is simple.
Whether it was you or your friend, the mod got sat/laid where it ended up with added weight/compression and ran until to cooked everything.
It Happens! I cooked out 3/4 tank of e-liquid in a Kayfun last week - first screw-up in 2 years. Sadly did it again on the Same Mod 2 days later.
First thing that must be done is Clean All contact parts to shiny new.
Second is Read All connected parts with a Multimeter on Ohms setting to verify conductivity.
Next is to add a GOOD battery and use the multimeter on DC Volts to read Output at the top cap center pin while firing.

If you are getting 0-.1ohms reading continuity and 4.3v(charged Battery) when firing, the mod is ready to attempt firing an Atty.
If the Atty Fails, you will know the problem is Top connection or Atty issue.

Good Luck
