Wow thanks a lot guys, cant wait to give this one a try, my DIY shipments will slowly start showing up, beginning today!

I make the Kentucky Clone recipe all the time. But I jack up all the flavor percentages by 1% except for the tobacco, which I lower to 2%, with FlavourArt tobacco.

That flavor is out of this world, but pricey!

Anyone come close to replicating?

I taste wood, maple syrup, tobacco..... am i way off?

Anyone successfully replicate this? And how?

Jim

Daves juices are very complex. Replicating them exactly would be next to impossible. Youll always be close but not quite as good. Ive found the best thing to do is to just buy from him. His prices arent any higher than most other juice vendors.

Though I have ten or so of my own original recipes I often will pick up a few bottles of Vermillion River just because its soooo good.

Also, he has a little brick and mortor store less than an hour from me sooo...

My guess would be virginia with some tpa double ry4. I definitely taste caramel and vanilla, and the double ry4 has that without and overwhelming tobacco flavor. Not sure about the virginia base, but it is a light, woody tobacco. I would say Royal, but it has the slightest hint of mint (taste more like 'fresh', but I don't taste that in the Vermillion River Kentucky Blend. Maybe a Burley base, instead of virginia? All flavors I've talked about are FA instead of the tpa double ry4.

I dont know if I want to try a DIY on the Vermillion Rivers. I love them and I pay the extra cause its that good. Maybe when I get more experiencd with DIY I might give it a go. I will definately keep my eye on this thread. I love the kentucy cherry wood, it definitely needs some steeping in my opinion, dont get me wrong its good right away but the sweetness mellows out to a smooth cherry tobacco after at least a week and the scent mellows out too. I like to blend it with their classic blend tobacco. The classic blend is wonderful, a bit dry when new but nice and smooth - no nuttyness, no strong overtones of anything in particular. I mix them 50/50 and I love it as an all day vape.
I did buy some DIY supplies from my freedom smokes. I make my own basic orange/clove and its nice and light. CLove is good but in small doses. I wish I could add some tobacco concentrate but I guess im just a bit shy about it. I guess I could add some of the vermillion rivers classic? Think I might place another order.

Hi, this is my kentucky blend Applewood recipe.
in 10 ml - ml=30 drops

TPA Hazelnut 15 drops
TPA Marshmallow 21 drops
TPA Caramel original 15 drops
TPA Tobacco blend PG 24 drops
TPA Apple flavor 18 drops
3 drops Ethyl Maltol
Enjoy.:)

I just made a bottle of this, and it's lovely. My only alteration was that I used FA Hazelnut (because I already had some in) and I didn't use any Ehtyl Maltol because LF didn't have it in stock.

But I question your flavour strengths - If I understand correctly, this is for a 10ml bottle and 30 drops = 1 ml.

TPA Hazelnut 15 drops = 0.5ml
TPA Marshmallow 21 drops = 0.7ml
TPA Caramel original 15 drops = 0.5ml
TPA Tobacco blend PG 24 drops = 0.8ml
TPA Apple flavor 18 drops = 0.6ml
3 drops Ethyl Maltol = 0.1ml

That's 3.2ml of flavouring in a 10ml bottle, which equates to 32% of your final product being flavouring... which I find astonishing. I wanted to make a 30ml bottle, so I tripled your quantities but then I halved them all and the flavour is still quite strong.

Of course I could have completely misunderstood your methodology because I don't work in drops, only in ml, in which case I apologise and ask that perhaps you could set me straight?

And thanks very much for sharing the recipe, my friend is an avid vaper of the Vermillion River stuff and now he can make his own. He usually vapes the Maplewood or Cherrywood variety but I assume you can just swap out the apple.

Hi Mammoth and I' really sorry!

It's my mistake and the % are not correct for a 10ml recipe!
Here is the correct one-
in 10 ml - 1 ml= 30 drops.

Ethyl Maltol = 1% - 3 drops.
TPA Hazelnut 15 drops = 2% - 6 drops.
TPA Marshmallow 21 drops = 2% - 6 drops.
TPA Caramel original 15 drops = 2% - 6 drops.
TPA Tobacco blend PG 24 drops = 2% - 6 drops.
TPA Apple flavor 18 drops = 1% - 3 drops.
:)
