I wonder if it is Gary Cooper? Maybe around the time he portrayed Lou Gehrig in the movie about the baseball player? The disease Lou Gehrig had, ALS, was then named after the baseball player. That would have some historical importance.

Murrow is all about microphones for sure. If that is a "widow's peak" in the pict tho, that'd point at Cooper.
