Just had a really really bad vaping taste from some coconut eliquid. Closest comparison would be soap but it was so bad it actually made me sick! I loved this flavour last time I got it but tried three of the bottles from my latest order and they're all the same. I'm pretty new to vaping so I'm just wondering if this happens often? I know it was the last of the flavour they had in stock so could it be that its old and has gone off?

I don't think the juice has gone bad. I think it's your taste buds. A lot of people experience funky taste buds sometimes in the first month of vaping. This usually only lasts 2 or 3 days. Your taste buds are also returning to normal after years of analogs, so you will find that your taste in flavors is changing. What you like yesterday, you may hate tomorrow. It's another reason we always suggest sample packs of flavors for new people.

Drinking lots of water will help get the toxins out of your system and also improve how your eliquids taste.

Juice actually does the opposite -- If you let it sit in a cool, dark place ("steeping") for a week or two, often the flavors improve significantly. If you're getting a perfumey fragrance off a bottle of juice, chances are it needs to steep.

What I read here on ECF was "Good juices get better, bad juices don't." So if you liked it last time, leave the new bottles somewhere for a week or two then try them again.

Is there a date on the juice? I had some, from a company not listed on ECF, that I did not like, let it sit for a year and forgot about it. Opened it a few months ago and it had gone sour. It smelled horrible! Guess that is why the company is not a listed vendor here, lol.

At any rate, if your juice is sour, assume it is bad and toss it. I just don't like to take chances with anything that has gone bad, but that could just be me.

It has been said juices have a one year shelf life, plain nic mixing liquid 2 years (if the nic liquid is stored properly).

I wondered the same thing as the OP since I recently came back to vaping and have e-liquid that is 2-3 years old and never been used since I had some issues with the original e-cigs I bought. I just started back with e-cigs checked the oldest ones gave them a shake and been smoking them for about a week now with still strong flavors and nothing funky.

I read forgot where that the liquid is ok as long as you don't see separation? and if you do see separation just give it a shake and if it still separates it's bad?

The Pg and VG have a shelf life of about 2 years but I can't say the same for the flavors that are used because I don't know . I do mix my own flavors and steeping can be good and bad because leaving a juice to steep does change the flavor . You might not know you added too much flavor to it right away but later when it has steeped a lot more and the flavor changed a bit then you might not like it as much . I don't like to vape the same flavor for too long I get tired of it or have the same problem you did but then after changed to a different flavor for a while and coming back to the first one I like it again for a while anyway . Some flavors seem to keep getting stronger over time over powering other flavors that are in the same mix . Coconut and chocolate are two such flavors and compete with each other when used in the same mix . I have not used much coconut but I have leaned to be more conservative with adding chocolate to a mix .
