Welcome to ECF, huggs!

Well, the first comment for the Smart Smoker link states that the customer was scammed out of $100. I didn't bother watching the Gamucci link because it states right in the label that it is a "micro cigarette". But, I did look it up. It looks way overpriced. $25 for a new battery, $20 for an atomizer, etc... Neither of them is worth considering.

What is it that you are looking for in a new device. Size, vapor production, convenience?? How much are you smoking now? This is information that can help us lead you in the right direction. There are some great starter kits with much better prices out there that we can help you get started with and make your intro into vaping the best it can be.

HI and welcome to ECF. You might want to check out these videos http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/120044-i-made-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html. They give a good review of a couple of popular starter models that people recommend here on ECF. I don't think you'll find many people recommending the ones you saw in the videos you linked.
Basically, if you're paying more than about $40 for a starter kit, you're paying too much these days.
If you want something small consider the 2 piece KR808 or 3 piece 510. They don't have a long life battery though so size makes a difference. If you want something to last all day go with an eGo or Riva. That's kind of the general rule.
For KR808 check here Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA!.
For 510 check here 510 Kits.
For Riva and eGo check here Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510.
Each site has other models listed so browse them and see what's available. If you have questions just post and you'll get lots of responses in short order.

Welcome! "The Best" is really sort of different for everyone, but being new here myself I got opinions and recommendations from a lot of folks on these boards. You have definitely come to the right place! Look around, read lots of info, watch the videos, ask lots of questions.

Some of the more popular ones that are good quality and recommended over and over are listed above by cskent.
ANY of those choices are good for us beginners really. If it is important to look and feel sort of like a real cigarette than the Joye 510 is probably the closest or the KR808 which is a little longer I believe. If you don't care what it looks like so much, go with a eGo or Riva. Personally I settled on the Riva because it's basically a clone of the eGo and it's little cheaper.

Whatever you do, just don't rush into buying something, read, ask questions here and make an informed decision. A lot of us, myself included fell into using google to search for "E-Cigarette reviews", or "Best electronic cigarettes", or similar searches which mostly will leading you to some crap sites that tell you to buy over-priced stuff that is not so great. If you have not bought one yet, then you are doing well, as you made it to this forum before spending money on something you might not be satisfied with, like I did. It did get me started and got me away from smoking though.

There is a ton of info and it can be very overwhelming, just relax, post any questions you have, and things will work out fine.

The general consensus around here from what Ive seen is that the ego/riva or the joye 510 are usually your best bet as a starter e-cig, many people will happily keep using those forever, while others will eventually want to move on to a high voltage Mod once you get over the initial phae where you want your e-cig to feel similar in your hand to a real cig.
