Hello,
I am from Bangladesh. I have been smoking for almost 7 years now. Although I am not a chain-smoker, I think i smoke fair amount. I am trying to reduce the habit. After i lurked around a bit, I found E-Cigs are some good alternative. I tried to look around for E-Cigs in my country. But unfortunately brands like Blu, Choice 7s etc. are not available here. I found these 4 brands in my country.

1. E-Lite E40 Reusable ( E40 Reusable E-Cigarette | Tk. 2,000 )
2. E-Health ( Electronic Cigarettes | Tk. 500 )
3. Royal Electronic Cigarette ( ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE ROYAL | Tk. 2,300 )
4. NYCe Dual pro kit ( E-cigarettes | Tk. 5,300 )
5. Gamucci Micro USB starter kit ( ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE GAMUCCI MICRO USB STARTER KIT RECHAR | Tk. 3,840 )

Can anyone advice if any of these are good to buy? also keep in mind that this one will be my first e-cig, so there is also a question if i can cope with e-cigs. Also anyone had trouble from e-cig so far? [ Currency conversion 1 USD = 80 Tk ]

Welcome to ECF.

I've never heard of those brands. Personally I don't like cig-a-likes but that's personal preference. Have you checked to see if any suppliers will ship internationally? I know some offer this but not many as there can be issues with customs on some items. Also check local laws to be sure vaping is not illegal where you live.

In my opinion " NYCe Dual pro kit" looks to be the best of those options. But I do not use cig-a-likes. Someone with more experience will hopefully chime in soon. Also check ECF's international forums. Once you have 5 posts you will be able to post in them and will likely find more people in your area that can help.

Good luck happy vaping.

First of all, welcome to the forum. And congrats on looking for a healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes.

Not sure I can help you much with what you linked to. I'm not familiar with any of them. As a category, I'm not a fan of the cigarette looking batteries. All of these batteries are just too small to do for what we ask them to do, in my opinion. The battery charge on them only lasts 2-4 hours, essentially having you need to carry several batteries with you to cover an entire day away from your charger.

Batteries are rated by "mah". 100 mah is equivalent to 1 hour's use. So, a 250 mah battery will last 2.5 hours. A 900 mah battery will last 9 hours. Get the story?

Size comparison: cigarette with two mini batteries and three eGo class batteries. Note that there are no juice delivery devices on top of any of the batteries.

The larger eGo class of batteries offer a much more pratical option if you are able to discount the fact that they look nothing like a cigarette. They are the size and length of a cigar. The smallest of these batteries will last 6.5 hours on one charge, the largest 13 hours. These batteries also offer more option for the juice delivery devices that sit on the battery to make vapor. Below is an example of a typical eGo battery setup.

Finding a good juice flavor that you don't mind using day in and day out is probably as important, if not more than, the gear you choose. The juices come in many different flavors, from tobacco, menthol, candy, desert, coffee, and fruits. You can purchase these juices with different strengths of nicotine. You weren't specific on how heavy of a smoker that you are, so I can't give an ideal nicotine strength for you to start with.

Be aware that there are no e-cig flavors that will taste like a cigarette does. The taste of smoke and burning tobacco leaves just can not be duplicated in an e-juice. The flavors that are labeled as a tobacco flavor may have hint of tobacco taste, but are more along the line of a cigar or pipe tobacco. Most new vapors soon find that they are more successful finding a flavor they like from the other choices of flavors.

Hope that helps some. Feel free to ask additional questions.

As others have said, skip the look-a-likes because you'll just end up getting rid of them anyway. (I switched in 3 days because it was really annoying. In theory they go an hour or two without charging. In practice, you'll want to top them up constantly just to get a good puff..) That doesn't mean skip the pre-filled cartridges - if that is what you want, just make sure they have 510 threading and put them on a better battery..

If you can find an eGo or eGo twist, you'll be set for much longer. They have the 'standard' connectors (both 510 and 808) so they work with just about anything. (I'm a week in and I think I'm in love with the Vivi Nova and my variable-voltage eGo V Mega VV.

Not sure how much reading you have done yet, but the basic idea behind variable voltage is that it isn't variable. :) When a battery is completely charged, it is feeding about 4.1-4.2V to the load (in this case, the heater in the ecig.) As the charge drops off (initially very fast) it gets down to about 3.6V and eventually it will refuse to fire, somewhere around 3.2V. (That is to protect the battery - taking it lower will damage it.) The variable voltage (vv) devices, like my mega vv or the ego twist, use a small circuit to always put out whatever voltage you set it for. (I think the twist does between 3 and 5. The one I have does 3-6.) Most of the time, if you don't have some crazy attachment, you'll still use it in that "normal" 3-4V range but it will be at exactly that from beginning to end. (There is a graph of a generic li-ion battery discharge here if you want to see what I am talking about.)

The drop-off is based on how much capacity the battery has, so the tiny 'look-alike' batteries give just a couple of "good" puffs, a few more "ok" puffs and then you'll end up wanting to charge them. (And they take longer to charge than to run down so you'll end up swapping and swapping and swapping...)

Problem is none of good brands available in my country. Although I am trying to bring one from abroad, not sure if i will be successful.

As for the form factor, I like look-alike a bit more. Just personal preference, plus I got an portable Iphone charger. May be I can use that to charge the battery? any look-alike brands u guys suggest?

Also can someone explain me, what is 501 and 808?

And thanks for the warm welcome.

See if you can get the "eroll" alsoknown as the "emini" that from what I have seen is a decent cig-a-like device. It comes with a PCC(personal charging case). You charge the case not the ecig battery. After you used the ecig you put it in the case and the case charges the battery. It's not the best design but better by far than most.

Most e cigs can be charged with a USB so charging should not be an issue.

All of us ex-smokers start of preferring the look-alike type. The problem is the battery technology has not progressed enough to allow a battery of reasonable capacity to fit in a cigarette size. You can quit cigarettes using a e-cig look-alike in a couple days. Then you will realize the short comings of the look-alike and buy something better. Either way you will quit. One way is less expensive.

I have no idea of Bangladesh import laws. You are on your own there. Although I am glad you are quitting.

808d and 510 is the type of connection the threads are on your mod, battery, cartomizers, atomizers, ect. So if you have a 808d style thread on you battery/mod, you need cartomizers with 808d threads. So for example, I have a smokeless image volt x2 battery which has 808d threads, so I need cartomizers with 808d threads to fit on the battery. Hope this helps!
