Can I turn my 510 parts chrome?

So I have a 510. recently I was rinsing it out in under the fossit, holding it with my tweezers. My tweezers scratched off some of the black paint to reveal a silver/chrome looking endoskeleton.

This gives me an idea: Could I simply take some steel wool and sand off the black paint so that my 510 is now a silver color? Would this be dangerous/harmful to my parts or should I just go for it?

sure you can but a polishing wheel if ya have one would really work wonders with a wire brush on the wheel first then a polish pad next, no what I mean sheen
