...maybe...probably...the KGO has plenty of power to run them however, they do draw a LOT of amps and could damage the switch/pcb/batt and may shorten their life, both in run time and lifespan...having said that, if I wanted to try them(and had a KGO) I would...personally, I haven't been overly impressed as some with the dc cartos I have tried...while they make plenty of vapor, it is cooler than say the vapor produced by the 1.7ohm single coil Resurrectors(which makes pretty awesome vapor)...dual coils seem to really shine on higher than 3.7v devices...as has often been pointed out, all this is subjective and YMMV.................

you can use it, but in truth the battery isn't going to be strong enough to push it properly. A pretty safe guess on a battery like that is that it can output 1 - 1.1amps. At 3.7v, it would take 2.96amps to drive 1.25Ω. When it can't output that much, the voltage must by necessity drop, and since 2.96 and 1.1 are so far apart, by quite a bit in this case. So, it'll "work", but won't really be performing near optimal. I assume you're going for lower resistance to have more vapor, but to do so you'd be better off with a high drain battery like the AW IMR 14500.

Most 14500 mods are close in size to the kgo. The E-Power is one such example of an inexpensive mod designed to look and operate similarly. There are kits for it, but unfortunately, the batteries the kits come with aren't much better than those inside the kgo/riva/ego. Luckily, the parts are sold separately. Something like the following would be an awesome starter kit with an excellent battery that could run any atomizer/cartomizer you could throw at it:
E-Power tube: $9.95
E-Power button: $9.95
2x AW IMR 14650 batteries: $14.98
Inexpensive 2-channel charger: $9.99
total: $44.87
The 14650 is a little more unusual size, though.

There are lots of 14500 (a more common size, linked above) mods. Here are a few prettier (but also pricier) ones (generally sold as just the body, so batteries & charger still separate):
Altsmoke BB ( Very well built. I use its big brother, the Silver Bullet every day)
Puresmoker ICON
Vapor Alley r2v2 Copper

Ahh, that's not good. I am pretty new at all this. I like the draw of the dual cartomizer and the extra size. It just seemed "mellow". So far it is my favorite carto. I am not going to buy a new system just yet; when I do, it will probably be a Provari or a Silver Bullet.

Thanks so much for all your help!

For now I am sticking with my Kgo. So I should be able to use the 1.5 ohm Smoke Tech dual cartos with no problems of messing up my batteries?

Well, again, it'll "work". Nothing in the ego/riva genre are really capable of driving any LR atty, but people use the combo all the time. Lower res will still give more total power... there are just diminishing returns with most smaller batteries. It's still probably a better vape, so I'd say go for it. It'll work the batteries harder, and that will have some effect on their total lifespan, but it's not an immediate death sentence for them.
I'd say it's more in the realm of, "battery stops charging after 4 months rather than 6" than, "battery died after 3 days." :)

...what erich said...any low res gear will stress a proprietary batt like a KGO/Riva/etc...the specific answer will only be made in when it finally dies short of the 300 cycles it is rated for...having said that, if they trip your trigger, go for it...your are saving money over smoking every day you vape so enjoy it as much as ya can!!!!!!

p.s. I ran 1.5dc, 1.6dc and 1.7&2.0 sc on my 750mah Rivas(and still do)...as the saying goes, you payz ya money and ya takes ya chances.............mj

I have an eGo passthrough, and use the Smoktech 1.5. Does anyone know what the difference is (as far as 1.5 carto goes) using it while plugged in, vs unplugged, if any?

Depends what you have powering it... likely it came with a 500ma wall adapter, so using it while plugged in will probably draw some power from both the battery and the charge lead. Something like 2 amp AC to USB Adapter, ideal for Passthroughs will push more, and should be noticeable with LR.

Whenever in doubt, contact the supplier and ask them. Most will give you an answer pretty quickly and they're familiar with what they're selling.

I am really tempted by those K-Go Batteries though I have all kinds of mods. This thread is keeping me on the straight and narrow though. They are just not cost effective in my book. They cost more than a single AW IMR battery of any size and they just don't perform. I LOVE the 1.25 dual carto. I use them (even with the little hole and flange) on my REO Mini 14500 and they are very reminiscent of a 5v vaping experience. Lots of vapor flavor, and I don't have to have a tank hanging off, but I have put them in a tank on the same mod. I use an Empire Mod drip shield to cover the little hole (little hole that I hear is getting bigger). Does anyone know if they have an unpunched version with no flange coming out? I would love a shorty with no hole.

Hoosier has the shorties, but they may be 1.5, can't remember. He has the XL dual coils in 1.25; I love 'em on the Kgo.

I think you are right about the Kgo not being cost effective. I shorted out one battery already, and on the other, the threading is finicky on the charger. After 10 weeks!

I just got a box mod; the batteries sure are cheaper!

If you have had it for 15days and shorted one out contact Brent, all Kgo's have a 30day warranty. He will happily replace it
