i know this sounds dumb but is it possible to just wash off my box mod or would that mess up the mosfet and the button? i just did not know if it would mess up the button or the mosfet even if there was no power running to them?
some juice sometimes likes to get inside a little and down under the 510 connecter and it does that little molding kinda stuff if you let little drips of juice just sit
Probably won't hurt it. When you're done washing, set a hair dryer on low and aim it at the mod for 15 to 30 minutes. Use low to keep from warping the plastic. Inspect carefully for moisture, repeat if necessary, reinstall batteries, and enjoy.
Yeah, that's more than a little concerning, considering that PG kills mold. The humidifiers in cigar humidors typically use a PG solution specifically to prevent mold growth.
I would use isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip. It evaporates 10x faster than water and won't grow mildew. But I would steer clear of the mosfet chip ad the internals of the switch. Better safe than sorry.
Isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner is your best bet. What juice is it that you are using that molds? This is something new to me, I'd love to see a pic.
If you can look close it has some kind of white mold. i do wipe it off but if some juice gets between the 510 and the atty and sits for about 2-3 days this happens. I am not sure what it is?
Water and electronics do not get along well, I'd avoid washing. Maybe try putting it out in the sun to kill off any growth then attack it with a small stiff brush to remove the mold.
