I've had my SW for a week now, been using it in temp mode and has been fantastic. Build quality has been best I have seen, no wonky battery doors etc. For the last couple of days I've been using my crown tank with ss coils and it keeps randomly going back into temp mode. This came to a head last night when device went into tc the coil popped cracked the glass of my tank and cut my hand :-( dodgy coil? device misreading? I'm not sure. Anyhoo took device back to store today and got it refunded. Is this cause it only reads kanthol or nickle? if so being able to set mode manually is a must (as per my sig 75w tc) as many newer tanks use ss coils. Any info would be much appreciated cheers Adam.
Can snow wolf 200w tc detect stainless steel coils?

Don't know much about the Snow Wolf or SS coils, giving a bump up to let someone more knowledgeable to see this thread.
Cause it's what the crown tank uses. I didn't even really think about it till after I took device back. Also got aspire triton tank uses ss coils too. A device that cannot use ss coils will be pretty obsolete soon. Manually setting temp/power is a much better option than auto detect I'm.
I think the snow wolf saw low ohms and assumed it was nickel, then it overpowered the steel.
yes, the auto switching has been a problem with tc mods.
kinda like the predictive text; 'smart' software doing stuff on it's own that you don't want it to do.
