Ok, let me try this out. A bottom feeder usually refers to a mod that is fed from inside, contains a small bottle of eliquid and a tube that feeds up to a RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer). The most used and highly regarded "bottom feeder" is the REO. This juice is dispersed to the RDA by squeeze feeding liquid up to the atomizer (referred to as squonking). Since I do not and have not had the privilege of using one of these devices I am only passing along the information that I have read.

I'm sure there will be someone to come along shortly and explain this better as I was trying to summarize as much as possible

Forgot to add that the topper on these devices are almost exclusively RDAs as having a tank is nullified with the use of the bottle filled with liquid inside said device.

skoot05 pretty much nailed the main difference. Only wanted to add that a true RDA is just a dripper, most of mine have a sealed 510 connection and you have to manually drip the juice into the chamber to vape.

More and more I am seeing the acronym RTA which is used to refer to a rebuildable tank atomizer like a Kayfun or similar. I think they use the term RTA to differentiate them from an RBA which is usually used to refer to a genesis style rebuildable atomizer.

Finally, if that wasn't confusing enough, you also have top coil and bottom coil clearos like Vivi novas / CE5s and Protanks / aspires. Your pro-tank would more often be called a bottom coil clearo not a bottom feeder. Some may even refer to them as a rebuildable clearo as you can rebuild the coil assembly.

Clear as mud right?

I understand that bottom feeder feeds from the bottom, but are they primarily dripping devices or can they be tanks too? For example, a bottom coil Protank, is that a bottom feeder?

Also, what does RDA stands for, thx

I'll also try to say what others have said...

A bottom feeder is a device that holds a battery, a switch, and a bottle of juice. By mechanical action the juice in the bottle is fed into the bottom of the atomizer. Typically a non-rebuildable atomizer or a cartomizer, but not a tank. Since you have a bottle of juice feeding the coil, a tank is redundant.

Tanks come in many forms, but they are not bottom feeders. They may be bottom coil tanks though.

RDA = Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer They are used by dripping into the atomizer, from above, and vaping. Great for vapers who switch up flavors often. I have a few and usually vape 6 different flavors a day.

Thanks for the reply. Is the RM2 the only bottom feeding RDA out there? One of the great thing about the RM2 is that excess get sucked back down. I wonder if there are any other bottom feeding RDA that can do this?
