Can someone please help me with my Mechanical Mod?

So the other day my variable voltage iTaste MVP broke, and I ended up ordering a new mod. I didn't realize what a 'mechanical mod' was at the time and ended up ordering the EHPro Nzonic, along with a 18650 battery, and a charger to that battery. Not knowing that I needed to 'build my own atomizer' I ordered a regular tank, that uses T-Series Coils. The problem now is, it works, but it almost always tastes burnt. At first I thought it was the lack of airflow (both the mechmod and the tank do not have adjustable airflow), but I figured since it was still producing huge vapor clouds, that was not the case. Then I realized that it was the unregulated voltage that the battery was exerting. To make a long story short, I don't have the time, nor the means, to build my own atomizers, so in an act of desperation, I started searching for solutions.

First off, I found this thing called a kick. If I order one of these, and use it with the battery and the mechmod, will I be able to use my tank without burning the coil?

Secondly, are there potentially any tanks I could purchase, or coils, that would be able to support the voltage of my battery (which I believe someone told me was around 4.4 V).

Thank you so much to anyone who can provide any insight on this matter!!!

That 4.4 volts is fully charged. As you vape that will come down and gradually taper to where youre getting zero vapor.A kick would definitely help with that....provided your mech mod can accomade it as well as your choice of battery.

What resistance coils are you using?

A good rule of thumb is to take the resistance or ohms listed on the package and add 2 and then adjust up or down according to taste.

For instance 2ohms plus 2 would be 4 volts. This gets most people pretty close.

Hope that helps and dont forget to post the resistance of the coils so we can hopefully help you dialed in a little closer and get rid of that burnt taste.

Also whats the blend of the juice youre using? For example; is it 50 percent pg and 50 percent vg? 30/70 etc etc. It can make a difference.

Thank you so much for the reply! I don't know what resistance coils I'm using, I just use these replaceable ones: (w w w .madvapes.com/t-series-replacement-bottom-coils-small-slot.html)

When you first fill the clearo tank are you taking primer puffs? And by that I mean taking 3 or 4 slow steady drags without hitting the fire button?

it is the slow hours around here, dont think you wont get some help, but... you gotta be a bit more patient.

OK first of all, if you put a higher ohm coil in your tank it might help. If you get a kick, you will have to use the next size smaller battery or get an extender (if even available). Your battery at full charger puts out 4.2v... and drops down and further down the more you use it.

The quickest solution is to put in a higher resistance coil (if you purchased more than one resistance type).

Lack of airflow is also an issue, but you cant solve that with what you have.

P.S. if you are going to own and use a mech mod, get a multimeter.

which means 1.5+2= 3.5, and you're saying the charged battery will give me 4.4

That could account for the burnt taste. Most fully charged batteries hover between 4.2 and 4.4 volts...and this will drop as well the more you recharge it...over a period of months.

look at my other reply above this one as well.

Dont worry we'll get ya straightened out.

Are you using primer puffs?

is that why it tastes so bad? and if i continue to use the 1.5 ohm coil while the battery gradually depletes to give me a reasonable 3.3-3.7 v, will it kill the coil or just my mouth?

at some point the battery voltage will be low enough to give you a decent vape on 1.5ohms.

the rule of thumb, lower resistance equals hotter coils.

I did the primer puffs definitely.

More than likely you have the lowest resistance coil then.

Try unscrewing the clearo tank from the battery and then holding the button in for 5 seconds or so like you would if you were vaping.

If you do this for a couple of minutes (holding the button on and off for five seconds at a time) and then screw the clearo back on the battery and the flavor improves its because the coil is too low for your setup.

Id recommend a 1.8 or 2.0 ohm coil

Also try another coil. Sometimes they are faulty right out of the package since China isnt exactly known for their quality control. Ive had cartos that said 3.ohms but a check with my Provari revealed they were much lower.

Basically, this is the setup:
I have this:
w w w.madvapes.com/t-dux-4-0-1-5-ohm-dual-coil-stainless.html
on top of this:
w w w.madvapes.com/the-ehpro-nzonic.html
with this battery:
w w w.madvapes.com/panasonic-imr-18650-2900mah-flat-top.html

try those solution I just offered and let us know if that fixes it for you. Also try not to get frustrated, weve all been there.

When one of my coils gets to the point of no return (cleaning them lasts about 2-4 weeks). I replace it. I take the new coil and take rubber grommet and chimney off and take out the 2 flavor wicks. Put 1 drop of liquid on the coil, replace my flavor wicks and put a drop of liquid on the wicks. Then get it all put back together and let my Silver Bullet sit up-right for 5-10 minutes, and it's ready crank out some vapor/flavor :)

No atty, no current flow, no depletion of the battery? I'm not following the point I'm afraid?
