I use a Kgo 1100mah battery and normally just vape with a simple ce4 clearomizer I get from my local B&M. But recently I purchased a Smoktech Duel Coil Ego Cartomizer. It's really quite nice and it REALLY brings out the flavors of my liquids. It's only 1.6 ohm so it seems that it wouldn't use up a lot of energy but I notice that when I use it, it does seem to drain my battery faster than the clearomizers do. Is this because it's a duel coil? Is it really using more power to produce the vapor? This concerns me because I don't want to cause any damage to my batteries. Would someone please give me your opinion as to whether or not damage can occur?

What are the ohms of the heads you buy? I'd venture that they are around 2ish ohms or maybe higher.
The reason your battery goes dead sooner is because you are using more power to run the 1.6 ohm coil.
The math,

3.7v at 3 ohms, 4.5 watts and 1.2 amps
3.7v at 2 ohms, 6.8 watts and 1.85 amps
3.7v at 1.6 ohms, 8.5 watts and 2.3 amps

See? The lower the resistance the less battery life you get from it.
No, you aren't hurting your battery per se, but having to charge it that much more isn't helping it's 300, or so, charging cycles.

so would 2 or maybe 3 ohms be better? Cause it's a 1.6. Maybe my battery isn't "big" enough for this carto?

It depends on what you like from a vape! I like around 8 watts so the 1.6 is right up my alley! Normally on my RDA's I run them around 1.2-1.4 ohms to get the flavor I like. The Kayfun clone I shoot for around 1.8 ohms because it seems to burn a bit hotter.
If you like the hotter vape and can deal with the battery not running as long as it used to, enjoy it! If it's too hot for you, get a higher ohm coil and enjoy it that way! It doesn't matter much as the EGO is a disposable unit anyway, so vape it how you like it!

Okay I think it's starting to make more sense now. See, I've never worried about ohms before because it has never been a concern with the clearos I've been using. I think it's time for a battery upgrade. Time to rob the piggy bank:2c: Thanks alot for the input Sawlight:)
