From the many posts on the subject, you can get VG at Walmart, craft stores and Pharmacies. It usually sells under the name Glycerin or Glycerol. PG you should ask your pharmacist for and if he doesn't have any, ask if he can order it in for you. Call around to all the pharmacies until you find one that will.
It's a good idea to make sure the product carries the USP mark.
i did notice that Bickford sells PG on their site and wondered why i haven't seen anyone recommend it. i can't vouch for the quality but i would think it's food grade given the business they're in.
Nuck, VG or glycerin is sometimes also called glycerol, but not usually in the US.
Glycol, on the other hand, is definitely not a synonym for glycerin.
PG or propylene glycol is one of many substances with "glycol" in its name, but some glycols are very toxic (eg, ethylene glycol), so people should be careful not to get any glycol that is not propylene glycol! 8-o
