What store IN TOWN sells rechargable batteries

Anyone know of a LOCAL PLACE I can pick up rechargable batteries (for mods). By local, I mean some sort of chain or store (I'm in the twin cities area of Minnesota, but any place local to YOU might have a store close to ME - i.e. Best buy, Target, Radio Shack, etc.).

Anyone know of a place/places to try. I've looked at websites for some of the local stores with no success. Is it impossible to find them in town? While I agree pricing would be better online I'd like to be able to just pop in someplace and buy some when needed.

Appreciate any/all advice!

Several months ago I tried to find rechargeables and a charger for my new AdapteveR. When I bought it from Thad I thought I could run down to Home Depot and get whatever I needed. Boy was I wrong. Nothing at Home Depot, Lowe's, Radio Shack, Best Buy or Batteries Plus. Nothin', Nada, Zippo!. A brand new AdapteveR in the mail and no way to use it when it got here! So sad. Online is the only place I've found. Thad sells them on his website now. Which is pretty cool.

yeah, you would be very unlikely to find the locally, but if you found some ma and pa electronics shop, you might be able to convince them to keep them in stock for you for the future.

BTW, DO NOT BUY the "14500" compilable ones that radio shack sells for like 16.99, cause they will not work and are no rechargeable anyways.

I failed to find any locally either. I suppose they aren't common enough to keep on hand. The waiting game is never fun.

Is there a Batteries Plus store in your area? Otherwise check any local electronics stores - we have one here in Kenosha that carries just about everything, but not a chain.

Just a couple of miles from me there's a Battery Store and a Batteries Plus. I've looked at both their website and didn't find anything available. I guess I'll have to pay them a visit or call them to see.

Why aren't batts more readily available? Aren't cr123a and cr2's used in some digital cameras? I realize some of the other battery types aren't as popular for other uses but you'd think stores would carry at least SOME!
